H-P, good to hear that things are looking a little more positive each day.
Let me give you the one word of advice everyone here needs to get once in a while. Patience! Too often when we believe we see positive reactions from others our exitement tempts us to force them into a decision they are not ready to make.
Your exH has been burned, and he can never forget that, but he can also never forget how good it felt to be near the fire. He used to feel safe there. He longs to be there again, to feel the warmth again. He will approach slowly and carefully, but the closer he gets the better it feels. Do not push him. Draw him in with your warmth and light.

Hello Lisa,
Thanks for your reply. You're sweet to think of me and remember how hard Sundays are for me.

I'd heard that London was really hot lately! Enjoy it!

I too loved Andy's letter. Life is so precious, and we never know what the new day will bring.

Thanks for reminding me of the big picture. I would prefer that things move quicker, but they have to go on a different time schedule than mine.

Sorry about the loss of your neighbor. It is sad when we don't get the chance to say goodbye.

I wish my exH could just wake up and have an "Aha" revelation that he should simply reconcile, and let go of resentment. Wishing isn't going to make it happen.
Thanks , Lisa, for your caring and for your thoughts. How is everything going with you? The yankee???

Thanks 23Down for your reply,
Patience, yes indeed. I'll pray for more patience each and every day. AT times it's hard , but I know it's what is needed.

I love your analogy of being burned and being near 'the fire'. YOu're absolutely right. I just want to be near him, and it's hard.

I'll strive to draw him in with my warmth and light.

Take care everyone, and thanks for your help and support,
HP

Hi H_P,

Thank you for your kind words. I really am doing great. Of course life is life and has it's ups and downs but I am so much happier now. My life has taken some incredible turns and I am surprised at the outcome sometimes. I am so uplifted by following your thread. I think you really do understand unconditional love. And I have to hand it to you for hanging in there. It has been a rough road for you and you never gave up, and it seems like you are finally gaining ground on what you have been trying so hard to accomplish for so long now.

I sometimes think about coming and writing what is happening to me but most of the people I see on now wouldn't know me from Adam. Also my story takes a different road then most here are seeking. I guess my main contribution would be that if it doesn't work out life can and does go on and can get better if you let it.

I fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) have no desire to ever reconcile and I know you know that has not always been the case. But I do believe that Plan A is what got me to the acceptance and happiness I have gained.

As far as what I'm up to. I am starting back to school, working and still dating my wonderful man. He is learning with me how to build a lasting relationship. I have high, but realistic, hopes for the future with him.

Oh btw, my son does seem to be getting better. I think all the stress of getting ready to visit his dad for 2 weeks, and being off all summer kind of got to him. He seems to have brightened considerably. I'm still concerned but I have hope here too.

H_P I am praying for you and your continued growth and happiness. Hopefully someday soon you will reach your desired goal. Keep the faith.

Sharon

HP, also keep this in mind. People do not show anger, hurt and care if they don't have feelings for you!
I'd say your H does love you, or he wouldn't be showing any of the signs of pain, and anger.
He is now afraid to trust for he doesn't want to feel that pain again.
Hopefully, in time, he will allow his true feelings to come through.
If I had not loved my H, his A would have meant nothing to me.
Some might say with a man it's simply pride. I don't believe even pride would bring out the feelings Love does.
Keep doing all you can to show you're changed and still want him.
LouLou
