okay I'm in tears.. just paged Myad with this message

"I just watched a memorial to 9-11. I'm in tears -- I almost lost you .. I love you so much, I'm so sorry for making you feel less, for rejecting you. I love you, I hope we are always together."

Last year a friend sent me this link ... she's an American Muslim and was heartbroken as were we all over what happened ... they were getting bashed a lot last year (I have other friends who suffered vadalism and attacks) ..and many forgot that they lost over 300 people in the WTC and were a commuinity hurting too... they were with this trying to say "what happened is not us".

I watched this after I watched the two links you listed adgirl -- I think they all should be archived together http://thisisislam.islamacademy.com/

I kind of hazard to put this link here ... I'm not trying to start a debate or a flame war ... one of the committees I am in is a civil rights committee and I feel for my friends who've been wrongly painted and targeted.

9-11 is emotionally charged .. here's what I posted in recovery yesterday about my sister
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Yes, it's her birthday and a cousin's too.

Since 2001 she will not tell people when her birthday is.

It was the second horrible birthday for her. The first horrid birthday came when she was 15 ... I was driving home and had a car accident and someone died (no it wasn't my fault, it was the fault of the person who died, he was drunk and high)

But I think about her alot now... just as I think about all those who died, their souses, children, parents, friends and siblings.

I think about my friends who are Muslim. How they have suffered attacks from those who wrongly blame them and their religion. Many have American flags flying on their homes since 9-11-2001... those flags have never come down.

We shopped for them when they were to scared to go out from their from their homes.

I think about this world and pray for it to be better one day.

I think about Myad's affair ... how I felt that he and OW flew a jet right into my heart -- and it's intereting, I've heard others on MB use the same 9-11 metaphor. And all the emotions and thoughts that brings up.

I sent an ecard today to a friend of mine serving in the armed forces. I thanked him for defending the country I love.

I think about another friend of mine who we worried where he was. He worked at 5 World Trade. That night he called and told us he was okay, but that he lost many friends. He was one of the many, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Pagans, Atheists, etc. who escaped from lower Manhattan with their lives crossing the Brooklyn Bridge to safety.

just some thoughts ... today is full of thoughts.
