By the time Isabel reached us here in Southern Ontario, she had died out. I guess the great lakes sucked the life outta her.
We had a LOT of rain here in London... but I honestly think we had more TODAY than we did on Friday.
How about you MBers to the south of the great lakes? How are you all doing?

Karen,
Glad to know you and your family are out of Isabel's way. Have you heard from WAT, HbH or anyone from that area?

I haven't heard from WAT in AGES! Hmmm... I hope it means that he's moving on with his life. He's probably too busy vacationing to spend time with us here on MB.

Hello from NC---the hosting state of Hurricane Isabel. I live in the Raleigh/Durham area, and we mostly got a lot of rain, powerful gusts that did some spotty damage, and the electricity blinking off and on all afternoon. The hurricane hit mostly east of us, and the eastern section of NC was hit hard--mostly small historic towns and poorer towns. Our church is organizing a clean up crew starting this weekend to go down and help w/ the cleanup efforts.
All in all we came through this one OK (from where I am) as opposed to 7 years ago when Hurricane Fran came through and plowed a new path in my town/yard.

Us folks here in DC had a widely varying experience depending on which power company we have. Me, I have the yucky one and went without power for a week. It took a few days to get used to it, and overall I found it to be less difficult than I thought.
There are still branches in the yard to be bundled for pickup, and that's about the only remaining visible sign that the storm went through. I hope those'll be picked up by the time I get home tonight, and then all will be back to "normal." (Funny how the definition of normal changes as life does...)
