"I don't care about you. I lost the desire to care about you."

We talked about care last night. That's what he told me. I told him "I need care."

He gets points for honesty, but I'm not sure where to go with this. I don't see how you can have a M without at least the desire to care.

Or perhaps "I've built up too many years of resentment, and it hurts to care about you. I have to wall myself off from you so I won't feel guilt/shame/hurt/sad."

That is what he says. He is resentful and doesn't trust me. Do you have any insight into resentment? I feel none towards him. The MC today said, "Resentment is a poisin you take hoping the other person gets sick." I know I've made mistakes, and so has he. I want to try to create a better today and tomorrow, not take pot shots at each other about the past. I don't get it.
