Posted this on the Recovery forum originally but thought I might get more responses here. Thanks!
Have a question concerning anti-depressants. I am currently searching thru the MB Forum archives for information but wanted to see if I could get some direct answers, too.

My W is finally going on Prozac. The dose is 10mg per day and she is about 125 pounds. Based on your experiences, knowledge, etc. what are your thoughts on when, how and what kind of an impact this could have on her? In our case she is the WS. I fear that part of the reason her efforts in the recovery are so minimal is that she is in fact caught in a depression cycle that she can't get herself out of. For example, after 5 or 6 weeks of NC, I couldn't say that she has largley gotten the op out of her system, even though he tossed her aside. While she has said that she is not going anywhere, she has not made any efforts in relation to our M emotionally or physically.

Really appreciate any & all insight so I can be better prepared to deal with whatever is heading this direction.

Hi jcola,

I'm not an expert by any means and I have just joined here but being the wife of a husband who recently had an A, I had to go on an antidepressant as well and it took me about 2 weeks to notice a real difference in how my emotions were going day to day. I started out with the insomnia and loss of weight, crying and I even collapsed one day(awful) but I am now so much better that I can function each day and I feel so much more emotionally "stable" although I still have periods where I am very sad,cry and scared but not nearly as much as in the beginning.

You didn't say when the Prozac was started but it may take a few weeks to see some real improvement on her emotions and interaction with you. Just my thoughts. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
