Just a mini update to let you know that eventually, my stbxH was arrested on the sexual assault of that 11 yr old girl.

Her family took it to court, starting by asking for a peace bond and/or restraining order against him. When the JP heard why, and heard her side of the story, a warrant was issued for his arrest. That was on Friday sometime (Nov 28th).

Of course, he's out on bail again.

I'm past the one year separation from him now, so I can FINALLY get the D finalized. It may take a few more months, as there is some other legal business to attend to (getting his parents off of the visitation court order; as there are newer, more serious charges against their son, they are not unbiased, and have come right out and told me that they do not believe that he is guilty of the assault). That's how I'm spending my day tomorrow... getting that stuff sorted out.

It'll be just over one month now, until the trial against stbxH for violating his bail conditions. January 12th for that one. Pain in the rear, is what it is. But I'll be damned if I'm going to let him get away with his games any longer. Yes, it's costing me time and money (I have to hire a sitter for the days I'm gone to court AND have my dad help out so that OS can get to school), but I feel it's necessary. Besides, I've been subpeonaed anyways.

I'll continue to update more, as new situations arise. Geesh! I'm thinking that by the time it's all done and over with... no one will be left around here that knows me and my story from the start! LOL.

Hmmmm... a bunch of the "oldtimers" have come out to post! It's good to see I'm not the only one who lurks about. LOL.

nerlycrzy: Thanks hon. I lost your phone number (well... misplaced it is more correct). It's on an envelope somewhere in this house! When I find it I'll give you a call. Tentative plans are to clean up the papers this weekend (my desk is FULL).

Pepperband: Oh yes.. .living my life to to fullest, for SURE!! Life is great. The boys are doing awesome, I'm SO ready for Christmas (and I'm NOT being sarcastic... I'm all done my shopping for the boys). I have bookclub this weekend, and next week is another "Home and School Association" meeting at OS's school. Ummm... lots more, as usual. No dates for a while though... I don't have the time!

Faith1: I've missed you! I should email you more often. But don't feel bad... I hardly email anyone anymore. LOL. How are things? Where's an update? (did I miss the boat on the Kevin thing? If you have the chance, can you email to update?)

WAT: Ah yes, we truly ARE survivors! I was so happy to read your update the other week. Did you ever get a response from your xW? Let me guess... it was beyond her to answer back, right? I wish you all the best as well.

My dear Karen,

It is good to hear from you. As painful as it is, this may be the only way he will get the help he needs. Enabling is not always a loving thing. His parents may not be strong enough to know how to break that vicious cycle of denial.

U though are one I am proud of. Keep up the good work. A vote of support is coming your way all the way out from the west coast. {{{{cyber hugz}}}}

Luv ya and hugz to the boys.

Well... I did my thing to get the ball rolling to alter the court order regarding visitation; to remove the stbxIL's from being supervisors. I won't know until Monday or Tuesday whether or not I can get the coverage from Legal Aid. I'm almost certain I will, b/c I'm looking out for the best interests and safety of the kids, and not revenge or anything like that. But you never know.

way2: hey you! I've not been on the reunion board for a few weeks... things slowed down after you posted about your son's eye. I assume there's an update on there, so I'll have to go check it out (I have the site bookmarked in my favourites of course... hehehe... I created a "Marriage Builders" link for the different sites, and some favourite posts).

Orchid: You are very kind in the way you talk about his parents. I tend to use the word "ignorant" to describe them, not meant to be too derogatory... just to say that they really just don't know how to do any different. Hmmm... referring to them as just not being strong enough is much nicer though. I like that. Thanks.

sing: I think of you often too. Your story is the first one that I started to follow regularly, but I was too shy to post to you. LOL. My how things have changed! Thanks for coming out of lurkdom for me.

Topie, I'm not an oldtimer, but I follow your story. I'm glad your life is continuing and your strength is growing. I hope these next steps go well for you, and that things continue to become calmer and more peaceful!

Shouldn't really be surprised at all, but hey!! I'm glad for the girl in question if that is where her and her family want to take it. It must be very painful.

Well you, you're always an inspiration to me Karen. Please take best care of yourself and your boys.

Wishing you well from cold old London!

Lisa
