Well, how was your New Year's eve with FWS? Mine went like this. Teenage son went over to girlfriend's house and FWH and I ordered pizza and rented movies. Started out okay, right? But then H went to bed at 10:00 pm and I was left to welcome in the new year alone. No "I love you" or kiss before he went to bed. What a way to start the new year after learning about H's affairs just a few months ago.
But then, why should I expect this year be any different? H never thinks about anyone but himself anyway.

WW left to go back to OM, so they'll be celebrating tonight. I spent a good night with my kids. We went and watched some fireworks and my girls acted stupid in the car while others laughed at them as we came home. Was actually a good night. It is not quite New Years yet, but I may actually stay up this year and welcome a new year in....

Hi TFG:
Happy New Year to you, no matter what, make it happy for yourself - inside of you!!!
I read your post about your H's As and I think I can contribute some points. Right now I am too tired because I spent NYE working, taking care of many very sick patients...
I'll write to you ASAP. Promise! Hugs

Happy New Year everyone - I babysat for neighbors so they could go out. They are young with 2 little ones and not too much money. It was very pleasant. The youngest boy is not quite talking and was very excited that I was there, so he stayed up til midnight babbling. It was almost like being with my H.

I am chaperoning & designated driver for 2 pretty ladies in a Salsa Club. Too bad that I never dance Salsa in my whole life ... little of any dance actually. .

I put my boys to bed in decent time (the twins were down by 7pm, OS by 8:30pm), and then I got down and dirty... then clean! My new year's eve was spent doing laundry and washing my hair.
It was a heck of a lot better than LAST year though. Last year on NYE, is when I found the kiddie porn and called the police, etc. I spent hours on the phone with counsellors, and don't remember getting much of any sleep.
NEXT NYE... well... I've made a resolution to myself, that I'll be sure to go out somewhere, to a party or something with someone. I don't know who or where, etc... but it WILL happen.

Ate some ice cream, watched TV until a bit after 9pm, then went to bed and was asleep before 10pm. Then I woke up around 5am to the sounds of high winds rattling the house as another storm rolled in. So I buried myself under the covers and stayed there until about 7:30am, just enjoying the warmth of those flannel sheets, and listeneing to the storm outside.
Oh, and I had no contact with another human being at all. Just me, my dog, and my two cats. Nothing more than a typical weeknight. [ January 01, 2004, 12:48 PM: Message edited by: Uncomfortably Numb ]

First I put DD down for the night. The first time, anyway.
Then I had dinner with my brother -- lentil soup and pumpkin bread and Starbucks drinks.
For a while I played on the Internet, researching things I wanted to know and catching up on e-mail.
As I was deciding that it was time to go to bed, DD woke up. This was about 11:50pm. Since DD was born at 12:01am NYE last year, I got her up instead of just putting her back down. We went down and watched the ball drop on TV, and my brother took the baby and made her laugh saying "HaaaaPPPPPYYYY New Year!! HaaaaPPPPPYYYY Birthday!!!" over and over again.
Then we went upstairs and talked (okay, I talked, she babbled) about last year at that time, when she and I were in the NICU together. Breathing was not DD's strong suit when she was born, though she got it together quickly.
My brother came upstairs after a while and there was more merriment, and then DD finally went back to bed about 12:30. Of course, she woke up again at about 4am, and then woke up for the day at 7am.
So... we got dressed -- fancy shmancy clothes for her, a sweatshirt and jeans for me -- and went out to breakfast. Buckwheat pancakes and coffee. Ahhh, the joys of breakfast.
And after all that, needless to say, we both appreciated her morning nap a whole lot!
I had a great New Year's Eve.

H made home made pizza's. Then we popped popcorn, made cookies and settled in with the kids to watch a Bend It Like Beckham. After little ones went to bed, my H and I retreated to our room for some nice NYE's fun of our own..then rung in the New Year with [censored] Clark...when the ball dropped we were in each other's arm..kissing in the new year!
Much better then last year which was just weeks after dday!!

as i always do ... avoiding amateur night like the plague.
then i stood in my back yard and watched our city's downtown fireworks displays (yep, there were two of them at opposite ends of the pedestrian mall).
then at 2 a.m. i picked my wife up from work. she manages a martini bar (recently featured in usa today, no less) and has always worked in the industry. we've shared a grand total of two nye's in our 11 year history.
we're over it by this point.

I stayed home w/ the kids while my H was at the hospital getting surgery on his broken leg. He's home now - better luck next NYE!
