Has anyone done their taxes with a WS and kids? I'm in plan B and my taxes are coming due. My W usually does the taxes but we are not together right now and I'm not sure how to file. Any tax people out there?

I'll tell you how to do it. Get an accountant, and tell him/her you want do your taxes as married filing seperate, and then you claim the kids on your return. Do this now before she beats you to it.

I suggest that you start out as if nothing has changed. Legally, this is the status quo. You are still married and nothing has changed. Start out as if you are still a "family." Your W's "absence" is irrelevant to the IRS.

If you can play the role, use this opportunity as an example of what is to come if she continues her course. Married filing separately or divorced, "single" with dependents.

A dose of reality is available.

You: For taxes, we have no choice but to file married, filing jointly.

Her: Blah, Blah, Blah (foglatin)

You: What do you think our options are?

Her: Blah, Blah, Blah (foglatin)

You: OK, then I suggest we turnover our info to a tax preparer and let them figure out the deduction for "married, but having an affair that will wreck the family."

OK, leave out that last part.
