How are you?

I thought of you as I signed a post just a minute ago. I added a "punch line" - a style that I've come to equate with your wisdom. I've repeated it below. I bet you'll agree.

All the best,
WAT

How am I?

I am like the soil of Meridiani Planum ....

......

Did you take that photo ????? That's too kewl.

Well, I am fine. Mr. Pep is such a good man to have around when I need support and love. We laugh and cry as a family.

Mom is dwindling .... and it hurts. But I realize we're fortunate. Her cancer is a result of a blood transfusion in the 70's that contained hepatitis C ... hep C was undiscovered at that time. And after all these years of being healthy, the Hep C finally did it's damage. This is her second fight with liver cancer. She had about a third of her liver removed 4 years ago ..... but this time, the cancer is going to be unstopable. So we're doing the best we can.

The other hurt in my life right now is our son.... but I am doing Plan A on him with very firm boundaries .... and because he's going to be 18 soon .... he's got some deciding to do. The conversations we have with him are serious on the surface, but hillarious in the subtext. He's all grown up and legally a man (in a few short months), so he has no reason to follow family rules, but he's too chicken to live outside the family nest! LOL! So he's trying to negociate living with us and having all the benifits of our love and care and our money .... with no rules .... like THAT'S going to happen!

So, we expect some temper and posturing from him .... and he'll not live here because he cannot commit to any rules from us, and we'll wish him well and help him out for a few months, get him started .... and then we'll allow the natural consequences of his decisions catch up with him. Sounds like Plan A, doesn't it? (except there is no affair)

2Long, are you familiar with Pink Floyd's *The Wall*? ...... the film? It's based on Roger Water's life .... our son's therapist is using that film to break through our son's "wall".

So interesting.

Pep

Pep:

I may not have taken the photo you're referring 2, but I plan a lot of them!

The Wall is one of my favorite Pink albums. The movie had a couple of cuts in it that aren't on the album that are pretty moving. My favorite is the one at the beginning, where Pink's father is killed during WWII. Something about a bridge being 'held for a while for the price of a few hundred ordinary lives." When it came out, it got rave reviews, even from some of the more conservative reviewers at the time. Thing is, it can be pretty depressing, 2.

best,
-ol' 2long
