Could someone please explain to me in a little more detail about the fog? Or point me in the direction of a previous post that explains it? I've gotten bits and pieces off of some of the posts but haven't been able to fully comprehend.
What IS the fog? What are the signs that S is in the fog? Just general info.. thanks a bunch!

Hey there MilWifeFW,
Since we seem to be the only 2 people up, I'll try to give you my understanding of the fog.
The fog is the state of mind when the WS (who is still actively involved in an affair) isn't thinking rationally because they are so caught up in the euphoria or fantasy of the affair. They don't think rationally, for example they don't seem to realize that being in their affair is hurting not only their spouse but also their kids. Everything for them is about the affair, and they seem unable to be aware of the feelings of anyone else but themself and perhaps the OP. You can speak all sorts of rational sense to them, but they won't get it because they are in the fog. In short, from my understanding, it's like being in the fog of an affair (being actively involved in an affair) impairs the WS ability to think rationally.
Hope this helps, but I'm sure some of the old pro's can give you some more elaboration once they wake up later on today.
Jen

O yeah, don't forget this one: They will LIE and say all kinds of BullS*t and make lots of promises - don't believe any of it! Really. Remember, they're trying to CAKEWALK - they want you 'hanging dutifully off to the side on standby waiting for them' while they go off and play because they're selfish and care about only theirselves. Was just wondering for no real good reason. But BTW I'm the WS
Jen - Thanks for the info. I'm happy to report I haven't been in a fog for a while now! =) On the road to recovery!

The fog normally applies to the WS because it reflects there inability to see the real world.
Blaming the BS for making them have an affair, bouts of anger aimed at the BS for ruining their life, other irrational statements.
The belief that the fantasy world of an affair is real world and so on. Denial of even obvious facts. And my favorite that you can somehow remain friends with the OP as if nothing happened.
Mil you are hardly a "fogger" by any stretch of imagination.
