Hi TMCM
I have a question about ED. As you know I have it, Poe has been trying some things to help, I don't know If I should be encouraged or not. What should I be looking for about it getting better. If you like you could post here or use my silverthorn_mb@hotmail.com email address. I can go into more detail about whats going on or have Poe do so. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="images/icons/blush.gif" /> Well it is a little embarrassing.
Well, thanks in advance.

Hi Believer
Well, In a nut shell, I've been having problems for the last 4 years or so. Really probably longer. Lots of things come to mind about some of the pain that Poe had, my desire not to cause any, the decline in our SF because of it.
I don't know a lot about the problem, I seem to be fluxuating. I seem to have a problem with Poe. I use to look at pornagraphy, (its a destroyer, and still a temptation). I don't know where I'm going with this, I know I'm rambling. I do want to sexualy desire Poe, but seem to be having problems with it. If I think of some of the stuff that I've seen, or read I start to get an E, not fully but it starts to develop. Even this morning, I actually had a usable E, but not by thinking of Poe. That worries me, I just don't know what to do. It is a struggle with me. Something I need to spend more prayer time on. I also need to talk to Poe about it just don't know how to approach the subject. Or even if I should approach the subject. (We have talked some)
Trust me any suggestions, advice, recommendation would be appriciated.
No I haven't really gone to the doctor over the problem, but will be going as soon as my Medical Insurance kicks in and we get some medical problems checked out about Poe. (Can't take on anymore expenese at this point in time.) I'll probably see a doctor in the next couple of months. I know some of you have been worried about this about me from what Poe has told me. Thanks for your concern.

Well I know exactly what you are going through. The good news is that the new medicine works great. The doctor will even probably give you a free sample pack. The bad news is that it is costly, about $12. a pill, AND most insurance does not cover it.
The pills work so good that my H found that he could even have an A. For months he was keeping up with both me and OW. So much for the miracles of modern medicine.
My advice is to make the sacrifice and go get some. Cut back on food or something. You will not believe how great it works.

Well if its Viagra, it didn't work with me. Of course it might have been a mental block that I seem to have. Something to think about though. I do plan on getting checked out though.
Thanks.

Hi Melodylane
Yep, I think you've guessed it right. I actually didn't know how much it bothered me over the years. I ignored it. Did a wonderful job at fooling myself. I guess it was a topic Poe was dicussing with JL, TMCM, and others last year.
I think its also a bump for me. A soreness about the A. But this to shall pass. I do have hope.
<img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> Never know what your going to read about. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" />

Please get checked by a doctor soon. It can be caused by hormone levels, vascular problems, medicine you are taking, too much alcohol, diabetes, etc.
It is often a combination of things. The medicine I was talking about is called Levitra. But you need to get this taken care of soon. The longer you let it go on, the worse it can get. Because then the psychological stuff kicks in.
The doctor can figure it all out with some blood tests to check levels of different things. Don't be embarrassed to talk about it, lots of men have this problem. Go and get it taken care of.

I'll get it checked out. My med. insurance starts tomorrow. On a personal note, I don't take any medication, don't smoke, drink, or do drugs. If I had diabetes, I would probably be dead from the amount of sweet tea I drink. As for the other things you listed, I do need to get checked for. I have put it off to long. Yep, I can attest to the embarrassing aspect of the situation. It shouldn't have been a factor but hindsight is 20/20. Yep, count me as one of those men that wouldn't talk about it.
Thanks for your concern, I do plan on making a doctors appointment in the next month or so. (No later then April. Thats a promise to all that know of my problem and gave advice to Poe about it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> )
The psycological stuff kicked in years ago. You know how it goes, failure, leads to doubt which leads to more failure. Plus some added factors of Poe's pain and no desire to cause more. She has had a lot of medical problems over the years.
I will get checked out.
Thanks again.

The medication is needed only when you want SF. However there could be a hormone problem - I think it is the angrogen. Then you have to take it everyday.
But please go and check with doctor. It may be something really easy to fix.

Well, I now have a doctors appointment set. I will get to see him on the 2nd of next month. What fun that will be. Its a urologist that is listed as in our network. I don't know what to expect from this first appointment.
Poe called and set it for me. 10 am in the morning. Good thing I get off work at 7:30am. I only hope I make it home from the driving after.
I will let those concerned what the doctor says and does.

Hey ST, long time no post. I've been so wrapped up with my new job and family that I haven't had a chance to come here and post like I did in the past. As far as the ED is concerned, you've been given good advice by the ladies and I wholeheartedly agree with it. I just want to add that you should carefully monitor what you eat and cut down on foods high on saturated fats (eat lean meats) and refined sugar(eat fruits instead); exercise moderately (brisk walking for 1/2 hour five days a week); and get PLENTY of sleep. Even though the last one may be one of the hardest one for you to do, it is vitally imperative that you make it one of your top daily priorities in life. I worked graveyard shift for 8 years and it took me a long time to get it through my thick head that running on a sleep deficit was contributing greatly to my ED.
Taking good care of yourself is the best gift you can give your W. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="images/icons/cool.gif" />

Silverthorn - Several things could be at the root of the problem. Sometimes just one of them is enough, and sometimes it's several in combination, to cause the ED problem.
Stress. A big inhibitor at any time. Compound that with "mental movies," etc. and not completely forgiving or continuing to "dwell" on the affair, and you set your body up for nonresponse.
Caffeine - Too much interferes with normal function.
Exercise - As I was told by my physician (after 6 years of celibacy, "use it or lose it lose it." The same adage hold true for "being out of shape." Moderate excercise adds to muscle tone, endurance and functionality.
Medical - Various diseases can have an impact on ED. But one that is at the bottom of a lot of it is low Testosterone. When you see your doctor, have him run Testosterone level on your blood. If it is that, a simple regime of testosterone, usually a shot, or patch, is sufficient. When testosterone levels are up your desire is up also, along with other things. It is the primary reason why men are "ready at the drop of a hat" and seem to be much more desirous of sex than most women who's testosterone level is much lower normally. Even for women having a "desire" problem, testosterone treatment has been shown to have an almost immediate effect, sort of like the ultimate aphrodisiac.
Check out the circulatory system and the prostate status also.
A long time ago I recommended several books to you. One of them, by Dr. Ed Wheat and his wife Gaye, has a chapter on impotence and what both a husband and wife can do about it to return to "normal function."
God bless.

Hi All
Believer, <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> I've always enjoyed "Pun ishment" Thankyou, yep its time.
TMCM, Glad to hear from you. I know what you mean about getting enough sleep. I'm averageing about 6+ hours. Sometimes more, and yep, sometimes less. Depends on when I can sleep. And, Poe God Bless her is working on my dietary needs. I am eating healthyer weither I want to or not. (and yes I want to)
ForeverHers, You've again given me some thought. I do think I need to address my caffine intake. I do tend to get a lot. As for the book, its a good book that both Poe and I read. Poe is helping me in several ways. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
I'll have him check my T levels. It has really been a problem that developed over the years.
Thanks again everyone. As I get information from the doctor I'll let people know.
