Shouldn't that be "Reat the whirlwind."
Nothing has more fury then a woman scorned.
Sorry IMHO, women are more vicious then men. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

One who brings trouble upon his family (house) sometimes separates himself from his family, and may inherit only the wind (which is not much). <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" /> Why do you ask?

Hubby and I were discussing Bible quotes yesterday .... He uses this quote when he leads AA meetings... He says it means so much to him personally.

I prefer "Play the role, pay the toll" because it's easier to say and rhymes.

If you cheat on your spouse, and even if you show all the remorse imaginable in this world, they (the BS) might just get revenge on you BIG TIME and ruin your life in ways you never thought possible (eg. cheat on you too, slander your name professionally, etc).

In my mind (sad, warped little thing that it is) that would sort of translates into "you get what you give". You give nothing but pain, you'll have nothing but pain. You give nothing, you are returned nothing. You give love, you're returned love. etc etc etc lol

I think this might mean, God gave to each of us special gifts(i.e Love),that are priceless and all that we need in the world to live well.If we search elswhere for these gifts(i.e. away from loved ones) and live in a way that is not loving, truthful and honorable, then we will receive that in which we live by: a fleeting, intangible, empty experience.
I'm not quite sure that's what I meant,I will have to ponder this a while.

I could have sworn that earlier today it said "birdie yum-yum" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" />
Care to explain where you got that one?

ok, here is my favorite one:
Proverbs 21:9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

All that can be seen is the effects of the wind, not the wind itself, so one would inherit something that can't be possessed.
When the wind comes as a result of a storm, it's destuctive to all in its path-it doesn't choose who will suffer. The guilty as well as the innocent are subject after all the rain falls on the just as well as the unjust. So to create a storm within one's own home will scatter all that is valuable.
I don't think this has anything to do with revenge. We reap what we sow. Repentance and remorse doesn't necessarily stop the damage.
If only we all had the foresight to see what our actions would do to harm others. I think we would be shocked how far reaching they are-both in a positive and negataive way.
