Just wandering if anyone has tricks for getting some shut eye. I can barely function at work because I am so tired. It doesn't help that I am six months pregnant. It has only been a few weeks so I am hoping it will get better. I just can't get his off my mind.

Since it is more a life-situation causing emotional/mental anguish which is contributing to the sleep, meditation and focus will help more than most things.

Because you're pregnant, you wouldn't be able to use herbal solutions like Valarian Root (btw, that stuff stinks pretty bad so it would likely trigger some morning sickness too - but otherwise, it works like a charm).

Light exercise like a walk in the evening helps. It will also help you get stronger for having a baby more easily. So if you're not walking, get going.

Music like Pacabel, or Bach's Air for the G String is nice to meditate to - slow, methodical, light and pretty.

Prayer books and scriptures can give me comfort as well.

Of course, my homework assignments always knock me out. So you may want to pick a boring subject to study like math or real estate law.

Warm milk with 1/4 the usual cocoa mix can also work well to help you relax.

Warm baths are helpful - not hot, because you're pregnant. But put some lavender oil in the bathwater; also rub some lavender oil into your hands and then rub your hands across your pillow. Lavendar is a natural calmer and antidepressent for aromatherapy.

I bought a body length pillow to lay beside. It's almost like having WH there, except it doesn't snore.

Can you take Benedryl when you're pregnant? I can't remember--it's been almost 15 years since I had my last one. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

If you can, I'd recommend taking one pill about 1/2 hour before you're ready to go to sleep. It'll make you drowsy in about that amount of time. While you're waiting, if you're a Christian, read the Bible. If that isn't what you want to do, just read some other inspirational book.

I had a great problem sleeping for a while. I'm not in Plan B, but my WH doesn't not live at home anymore. I was taking Xanax (which you CAN'T take) and also a Benedryl and they did a very good job together.

I also agree with the warm cocoa post. I can't drink cocoa here at work during the day or I'll nap.

I'm a longstanding insomniac. You are probably not drinking alcohol at all in your condition, which is good -- it exacerbates insomnia.

I try to stay off the hard-core pills. Something I've found works pretty well is melatonin, which is "natural," whatever that means. Don't know how that combines with pregancy. Check with your doctor. I find it's pretty effective.
