How to handle special days you and WS have shared in the past. Today is the day my H ask me to married him. We always have celebrated that day, because it was one of the happiest days of our lives. My H planned the whole day to the littliest details, it was so romantic. He even cried as he proposed.

If I can't handle this day, how am I going to handle our anniversary which will be coming up in a few months.

Should I contact him, or should I just leave this day alone and treat like just any other day.He now with the OW since we separated in March. My guess is he probably does even know its April 29th. Both of us work nights, so days run into the next.

I just hope I can handle today without emotional breakdown, but I just wonder how others handle the special days you have spent in the past with your S.

Hopeless,

Fortunately I wasn't separated from my H during his EA but I've seen others here ponder the same thing.

Usually they end up either treating it like any other day. Sometimes they take themselves out to a dinner or movie or place they'd like to go that their WS would never go with them. Kind of claiming it as their own personal day.

Either way, it's a defensive "Ha! I don't need you so much after all!" which I think is better than wallowing in sadness.

Sorry for the hard times you're going through <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />

My H just called me today to tell me he knew what day it was and that he was thinking of me and not to be sad.

We didn't talk about it just kept the conversation short, but he did tell me he did tell his brother that we are separated, but that its. He didn't tell him the reason why, probably he knew his brother would be very unhappy and angry about him having a A.

But at least he remembered and he did contact me.
