Hi,
I just saw the 2nd show of 6 couples who participated in Dr. Phil's Relationship Rescue program. Very interesting.
The interesting part is how much the couples tolerated of each other and how little Dr. Phil tolerated on each of them.
How easy it was for all to minimize their faults and even deny it after they admitted to it. What lengths people go through to avoid conflict.
Have you seen it? What are your thoughts? I think about 3 of the 6 couples have 1 mate who was a WS. Each of the scenarios presented, we have seen here on MB.
Comments greatly appreciated.
L.

Hi Orchid,
I just wish I could get to see these shows here in Europe!!!!
We've tried about everything with our Satalite adjustments but we've been told that we cannot receive US TV shows here.
Does anyone reading this know of any possibility that I could maybe be able to see these kinda shows???? Maybe through the internet.
Sorry Orchid for "highjacking" your thread but I'm "going NUTS" not being able to see what you are all talking about and I really want to.
Sadly they don't have these kinda "Talkshows" here in Germany.........they'd really need them.
hugs bb

Hi! I read the book and it really opened my eyes. I'm not in the US either. What channel/tv station is it on? We sometimes get one or two US shows on cable tv. Need to know which station to watch out for.

I'm sorry - probably insensitive...
But I LOL'd when I read the info about Mike and Kimberly:
"Their relationship began as an affair when Mike was married to his first wife."
great start... Imagine being asked, "So how did you two meet?" And your 'romantic' answer is: "Well, we were committing adultery and decided to just go ahead and destroy a marriage and get married to each other." Not likely to get a "oh what a sweet story" response LOL
"Mike says that ever since Kimberly went off the pill without telling him and then got pregnant, their trust has been broken."
Oh so NOW he doesn't trust her ROFLOL! He had assumed that this woman who helped him fool around behind his wife's back would suddenly start respecting honesty and marriage once SHE became his wife? Poor Mikey...LOL
"Kimberly resents that Mike works out of town while she raises the children alone. She says he's emotionally unavailable"
How much you want to bet he worked out of town and was emotionally unavailable to his first wife too... Oh but Kimberly must have assumed the first marriage being (supposedly) not worth saving must have been the first wife's fault, right? I bet Kimberly is having trouble trusting him when he's out of town too LOL
"and feels he misrepresented himself before they got married."
Do ya think? ROFLOL Let's see, what are the odds that two lying, cheating adulterers would honestly repesent themselves? LOL
Man I hope his first wife is watching the show. I picture her and her friends/family munching on a big bowl of popcorn and instead of shedding sympathetic tears for poor Mikey and Kimmie, they're LOL so hard they're crying and finding it hard to breathe. I just pray they don't choke on the popcorn. [ May 05, 2004, 08:28 AM: Message edited by: meremortal ]

Some of the issues being raised are a bit hard to hear, b/c of the triggers. But I'm sticking to it, because I'm convinced that I will learn something that will help me to reach closure on my M (I'm still mourning the loss of my M ).

if we get real with ourselves----which one or two of these guest are most like us?
i seem to see myself in the bs/woman who's husband had the affair with the 22 yr old.(her anger is familiar). i also see some similarities with the wife who doesnt want to admit she is right on most all things.
so i am gonna watch like topie and try to learn something from it. i need to move foward....
