Geez - you guys really cheered me up - I learned sumthin, too!

Try this one - my favourite name for a food you'd never find anywhere but England...

...bloater paste...

comes in a jar...that's all I'll say...

...never tried it myself, can think of lots of other things I'd rather try first...like those artichokes....

I asked my English H about this.

Bloaters are smoked fish - therefore bloater paste = fish paste.

OH MY GAWD!!

I leave you folks to yer own devices for a weekend and look WAT happens!

Sheeeese!

ark^^, you'll be glad to know that for dinner Sat. evening I had Bay scallops, shrimp, fresh fish (they said it was haddock, but I think it was rockfish), and Maryland Crab Soup.

Yummy.

I'd claim it was on Tangier Island, but that would not be truthful.

Haluski, Periogis?????

Never heard of it, but I bet anything that sounds like this with a cold brewski is good. Sounds east European and NOT good for you. Thus, probably yummy as well.

Got any leftovers?

My mom's Polish, and my great grandma {Babka} lived to watch her family eat, eat, eat! I prefer the pitta hih (sure the spelling is wrong ) to perogis, tho...potato, butter, onion filling.

I believe the cookies are also called Krischeke --(that's probably mis-spelled, too ) pronounced cruh-shi-kee. mmmm....yuuuummmm!
