FL, I am as good as I can be right now. I am struggling with my "taker" a little, but once again God has been gracious and revealed some of my W's pain to me. I know she is struggling with what has happened, but that is the way God reveals Himself to us. She needs to go through the pain of her choices. There is no other way to God. I beleive He is healing her as we speak.
I journal every day and have seen tremendous progress over the last 3 months. My W responds with I love you every time I tell her and I even hear it from her without me saying it first. A year ago, I was lucky to get any response at all. It was usually silence. I do long for intimacy and get some glimpses of it, but she is still working through her issues of guilt and remorse.
I continue to show her love and acceptance very consistantly and she is responding more and more. I am sleeping much better and have put the A behind me. I look forward to true recovery. Just today I told her I was here for her and that she could talk to me about anything. I want her to trust me again and she needs safe place to land. I read the post from Boppo57 and his story is alot like mine. Like I said before, God will put the right people in your way at exactly the right time when you choose the right path.
I can tell you that you really made my day when I saw your last post. God is working in you. His way is the hard way and the gate is narrow. Its really hard to do the right thing and we often suffer for it. But God in His wisdom leads us down those paths for our good and His glory. It then becomes a matter of trust and faith.
I heard somthing yesterday that really struck a chord in me. Chuck Swindoll said "pride will eclipse compassion and mercy". I thought that is so true for me. When my taker comes to the forefront, that's pride. It will block all feelings of compassion for my W. It will take root and come out in an ugly way. I need to look at her with the same compassion that God uses. I saw Max Lucado say that relationships depend on the mercy of the strong, not the sins of the weak.
I am thankful for God's grace in all of this and I am thankful for friends like you. God has put us here for His purpose and there was no other way for us to be here except to be burdened by our sin. I have often asked why and how long, but I have come to understand that I need to trust Him with my life and all aspects of it including my relationships. I have learned how to have peace and joy even in the darkest times because I know He is with me. I know He is with you and my W.
I will continue to pray for you and your H. God will do the healing. It just has to be on His time. Thankyou so much for the concern.
Christ's Love, Roman
