Yep. It's been commonly referred to on MB as the "Infidelity Diet". It stinks.
I lost 50 lbs. after H's A#1...but I only needed to lose 30. I became anorexic/exercise obsessed (literally), and it took years to work that issue out.
It's normal to lose weight while you're grieving, but don't let it go on too long or it can get wayyyy out of hand.

cellophane, I like to call it the A depression weight loss diet. Frankly it was the only good thing that came out of the A for me. I needed a good jump start to lose some pounds. Of course I would take the extra lbs. if we could go back in time pre-A. Hang in there and just take care of yourself. My appetite did come back. CV

I lost 14 lbs the first 3 weeks. I've stabilized now, though I could still afford to lose another 20-25 lbs. I'm having knee problems and haven't been able to exercise/lift weights regularly for the last 1.5 months. Not the most enjoyable way to lose weight. Hang in there and good luck!

Same here - I went from a Size 16 to a Size 6 - about 50lbs total! I call it the "Infidelity Diet". It was the only good thing that came out of all this Bu$$sh$t - WH says I now look the better than I ever did.

As of Monday (which was 13 days after H left), I had lost 17 pounds!!! Still can barely eat... but I've got pounds left to lose, so I'm not worrying too much just yet. I'm forcing myself to choke down at least a couple of Ensures or Slimfasts a day. I try to be very careful with this as I have been hospitalized for anorexia before.

i lost 9 lbs in one week after dday. i've lost a total of 35lbs since dday. i still have a long way to go. about 30lbs before i'm w/in my IBW. and that's what i'm using to judge how much i need to lose. my goal is not unrealistic or anorexic but what is recommended for my height.
i'm just sad that i let my weight become so much of an issue w/me and kept me from feeling comfortable w/my H even though he did want to be w/me, until he met the OW that is.
most of mine weight loss is due to portions that i eat and working out. i still kind of eat what i want. anyway, i had prayed for God to help me w/weight loss and even though this is not at all how i wanted it to be done, it has helped me to prove to my H that i've changed and i did need to lose the weight for my health as well. steve harley said that i need to keep it up because amongst my other changes that the weight loss is still a very VISUAL change that my H can see.
the last time i saw my H i had lost 25 lbs in a 6 week time period and he was totally shocked and couldn't get over it, said i looked great and hoped that i was doing for me and not for him. he even told SH that i looked great. i "plan" on seeing him at the end of june. i hope by that time i will have lost a total of 20lbs since from when i saw him last in march. does that make sense? well i've already lost 10lbs since i saw him last so just another 10lbs.
plus i can't afford to buy any new clothes, i didn't ever get rid of my old clothes because i knew i would lose the weight some day and i still need to lose some more before i can wear ALL my clothes. but i'm on my way and everyone i see has been really great about noticing my weight loss too. i also did weight watchers for 12 weeks.
well that's about it for me, everyone keep up the good work because this is a life long change for us right? prayers to all.

I have lost 14 pounds since finding out 5/10. And I am not overweight either. I guess that's one positive we can all take from this experience huh?

She is turning me into what I looked like before we met. Kind of funny I guess. She goes and so does the excess fat.

Yep, losing weight is WAY normal. I have lost 35 pounds since discovering my WH A last July. In fact, at Christmas, my mother said to him TWICE: "You are such a good husband for helping (me)to lose all that weight" CRAP! At the time I couldn't tell her that he "helped" me lose the weight because of all the stress he put me under.

I lost over 15lbs while the affair was happening. I couldn't really afford to lose it either. I remember after I finally left and was staying at a friends I looked in the mirror and 'saw' it for the first time. Very scary.
Once I got settled though, I gained it back fairly quickly. I started working out too, and though I haven't been able to add many pounds, I gotta say I'm looking pretty good.

I gained 40 lbs from the time that H broke my arm when I threatened to call OW, which was 4 months before D-day. I believed him that it was my problem I was so upset about OW and, after all, he did ask that I not call her.
I've lost about 10 of those pounds, but I think it is because confusion and anguish has become resolve -- I will end the M if we don't follow MB program.

I lost 10 lbs in two weeks after H told me he didn't want to be married. Normally I would be thrilled, however, I am 10 weeks pregnant and this is NOT good for the baby. I just can't eat.

I've lost almost 30 lbs in the past year and a half. At first it was the stress, but then I cut way back on things like bread, pasta, and potatoes and kept losing. I am now settling out close to what I was in my late teens/early twentys and it really feels good. As ide from my own learning experiences, I have to agree that it is one of the few good things about this disaster.

15 lbs 3 weeks. I sought help medically and IC at 3rd week and managed to slow weight loss. I'm ending 4th week now. I want to loose more weight but not so drastically. I was having shakes really bad.
Must admit the results feel good though. Already lost a size so its new clothes for me, which is a great way of feeling good about myself. I can take anything I can get to feel good presently.
