I really NEED to tell you that you are my favorite poster in all of MB. Your insight and 'between the eyes' directness are a breath of fresh air.
I have been learning how to cry, after a lifetime (39 years) of NOT, and one thing I read of yours helped tremendously, when, to paraphrase, you said that if you could not cry, you might be crazy by now. I can attest to the fact that holding it in for a long period of time will drive a person to the brink. The last time I really cried before this week was when Brian Piccolo died (remember him?). I was only 5, but that movie ripped my heart out.
If I could have had anything different about my growing up, it would have been to have a big sister, and you would have been my choice.
God Bless, You Pepper.

How are you coping with the passing of your mom?
All my best and prayers to you.

well I distract myself quite a bit
I call my H when I feel in pain, and he talks with me. Or he holds me in person if we're together.
I contact my Dad.... but that often leaves me feeling more broken-hearted to witness his hurt.
i am doing OK considering it was less than 3 months ago.
It still feels like a dream at times...... this cannot be real....

George Bailey was the character Jimmy Stewart played in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life"....not Harvey. His name in the Harvey movie was Elwood P. Dowd.
I have lots of respect for you too, Pep...your ability to cut to the core of the problem at hand, see through stuff, your directness. Great. I think you have a gift.

Thank you GB ... thank you for your prayers.
I have a hurting place where I stick all the good wishes ... and it's a sort of balm to my grief.
