Question for FWS

My wife has her own apartment; I go there twice a week to drop off / pick up our dogs. It's about 20 miles, so it's not that far, but certainly not right around the corner, either.

I am considering asking her to split this duty with me, so she would have to come back to our house once a week. On one hand, I want to stop being a doormat; on the other hand, I'm not sure of the effect it will have on her to come back to our house once a week.

Obviously, every situation is different, but how did other FWSs who were separated feel about going back to their house while they were still in their A? Good thing or bad thing?

What do you want? If you don't want to make the drive two times a week, then don't. At this point it should be about what you want, not what she wants. Tell her you are really busy and don't have the time to drop the dogs off but they are at the house if she wants to come get them.
