Is is illegal in any states at all? (Or in any countries?)

In states where it is illegal, can WS and OP be tried for infidelity? How are these laws enforced? The infidelity police?? What are the implications of such laws? Is there any point to them?

I'm just curious as I live in a country where it is not illegal, and never considered that there might be places in the (western) world where infidelity could be illegal.

Also, and this is entirely theoretical, <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> let's say that one's WS and OP travel to a state/country where infidelity is illegal ..... can they be prosecuted in that state??

I have read that in Texas if adultery is proven the WS gets less than half in the divorce and can also be prosecuted for adultery. That is the only state i know of that enforces any kind of law. All states should as far as I am concerned. The WS should not get hardly anything in a divorce IMO.

Adultery is illegal in Massachusetts, though the law is not enforced.

Adultery is not illegal in Texas.

Adultery (sex with someone who is married, or sex with anyone other than your spouse if you are married) is illegal in ~twenty-seven states. Oral sex (called sodomy in some states)—either giving or receiving—is illegal for consenting heterosexual adults in fourteen states. Even missionary style, conventional, heterosexual sex between unmarried consenting adults is illegal in ~nine states. Cohabitation (living as married with someone you're not married to) is illegal in ten states.

Most of these states don't prosecute.

Thought I'd add some clarification on the above. Hope you don't mind.:

"sod·om·y ( P ) Pronunciation Key (sd-m)"

Any of various forms of sexual intercourse held to be unnatural or abnormal, especially anal intercourse or bestiality.
