My H says that he has no emotional attachment to OW at all, even though they have been having an A for the last year. They spend hours on the phone together. (See my previous thread in Just Found Out entitled "But Inside I'm Screaming"). He says that he doesn't love her and doesn't miss her at all.

Do you think that this is possible? Can a man have sex and intimite phone conversations for a year and not have an emotional attachment at all? Can they have that sort of relationship (she's in love with him) and not form some sort of emotional attachment? Could he be saying this so as to not hurt me anymore? I don't know what to believe. I want to believe him that he doesn't care for her at all, like he says.

1. Yes it's possible, but would you want to be married to a man that could do this?

2. I doubt it.

3. I doubt it.

4. Probably.

Some people are better about "compartmentalizing" things than others. I'm going to catch up on your JFO thread and see if I can offer any kind of direction or help for you.

Low, I love him and am hoping that this is just a side of his secret life and not how he is with me. With me, he says that he loves me very much. He CAN be a very unemotional person at times. I just don't know.

Star*Fish, thanks, any help would be appreciated. Last night H said that he has still had no contact with OW and that she has not tried to contact him at all (of course, I did threaten to sue her if she did...heehee).

It's hard to believe that he would not feel ANYTHING for her though. He said last night that he doesn't miss her and has absolutely NO urge to speak with her or see her. I've been really trying to meet his emotional needs, so hopefully this is all the truth he is giving me. I just don't trust him.
