Ok, so I just called WH at home to say hello because I was having some anxiety and needed to just chat about inconsequential things for a minute, and he was short with me. I could tell he didn’t want to be on the phone (he has to work nights tonight and was getting ready to take a nap), but it absolutely leaves me feeling just wilted inside when he’s short with me. He knows this! I want to call him back and tell him that I don’t like it when he’s short with me like that, and that I need to hear friendly, love-bank type words, but I’m afraid he’ll just get even more irritated with me. Should I just chalk it up to him being tired? I feel like every time he does that, we’re falling back into our old ways again. Should I call him and tell him that he hurt my feelings and risk him saying (as he usually does) “for Pete’s sake woman, stop it!”.

Having some major anxiety now.....

HB,
If it were me, I'd probably wait until you could do it in person. Over the phone is very impersonal and it's very easy to misinterpret words bc neither of you can see the others reactions.

JMHO,
