Hi,
My husband filed for divorce last week and I received a certified letter I haven't picked up yet. Is that the divorce papers? Does this count as me being served? I don't want the divorce, he knows it.

Depends on where you live. It may or may not count as "being served"
My wife's L did this, and I chose just to accept it as being served.
However, I didn't have to, I could have made her have a Sheriff's Deputy or Process Server officially serve me, but I figured that would just irritate her.
I'm not going to make the divorce easy, but at the same time, I'm not going to be petty.

I'd prefer to be served this way than have somebody come in where I work and serve me. I'm trusting in God that His will will be done. I'm not fighting the divorce. If this is the way I'm being served, so be it. Husband is in another state so this maybe the easiest wayf for him and his lawyer. Husband had mentioned that a local lawyer from my state would serve me. Guess he was wrong.
