Don’t let go of Hope. Hope gives you the strength to keep going When you feel like giving up.
Don’t ever quit believing in Yourself. As long as you believe you Can, You will have reason for Trying.
Don’t let anyone hold your Happiness in their Hands; Hold it in yours, so it will always be within your Reach.
Don’t measure success or failure by material wealth, But by how you Feel; Our feelings determine the richness of our Lives.
Don’t let bad moments overcome You; Be patient, and they will pass.
Don’t hesitate to reach out for Help; We all need it from time to time.
Don’t run away from love but towards Love. Because it is your deepest Joy.
Don’t wait for what you want to come to You. Go after it with all that You Are, Knowing that Life will meet you Halfway.
Don’t feel like you’ve lost When plans and dreams fall short of your hopes. Anytime you learn something new About Yourself or about Life, You have progressed.
Don’t do anything that takes away From your Self-Respect. Feeling good about Yourself Is essential to feeling good about Life.
Don’t ever forget how to Laugh Or be too proud to Cry. Or too stubborn to Smile
Don’t ever forget a friend who truly loves You As it could be that friend who is true to your Needs Don’t ever forget who helped you Grow as your need for more seeds may often re-appear
With all the above live life to its Fullest…

Dear Suzet,
If you read the post I have just sent on the thread 'Moving Forward' you know I was just so meant to read this poem you have just sent.
I am still trying to compose myself. Guess this Is a day when I hate myself so much for my weakness.
Suzet, I can't see my way clear at the moment. What I did doesn't just involve me or others close to me but has a wider impact.
I just am in a right mess.
I look to God to help me. He alone can help me.

Dear Kas,
I have just read your post on “Moving Forward” and you pain is palpable… Kas, I Just want to let you know I have read your post, I think of you and I will pray for you…
Kas, from all your posts it’s so clear that you are a good person who have made bad decisions… Everyone make mistakes, but you have learned from yours and you are truly repentant & remorsefull...
Kas, God & your H has already forgiven you. I so hope and pray God will give you the strength & courage to forgive yourself since this is the one thing you need most right now. I can see you're struggling with it… Please forgive yourself and be good to yourself.
Here is something else I want you to read. Hope it will be an encouragement to you in this hour of pain:
IT'S IN THE VALLEYS I GROW
Sometimes life seems hard to bear, Full of sorrow, trouble and woe It's then I have to remember That it's in the valleys I grow.
If I always stayed on the mountain top And never experienced pain, I would never appreciate God's love And would be living in vain.
I have so much to learn And my growth is very slow, Sometimes I need the mountain tops, But it's in the valleys I grow.
I do not always understand Why things happen as they do, But I am very sure of one thing. My Lord will see me through.
My little valleys are nothing When I picture Christ on the cross He went through the valley of death; His victory was Satan's loss.
Forgive me Lord, for complaining When I'm feeling so very low. Just give me a gentle reminder That it's in the valleys I grow.
Continue to strengthen me, Lord And use my life each day To share your love with others And help them find their way.
Thank you for valleys, Lord For this one thing I know The mountain tops are glorious But it's in the valleys I grow!
REMEMBER... The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything. Love and hugs, Suzet [ June 28, 2004, 05:33 AM: Message edited by: Suzet* ]

Dear Suzet,
I was just going to log off when I saw your reply. Thank you so much for it. The valleys are so hard to be in because I just seem to be stuck in them, yet I know with God’s timing He WONT let me out of them until I learn what I am supposed to learn.
I long for the fresh air of the mountain tops. I really do.. Even to catch a glimpse of a peak and see myself reaching it.
“Continue to strengthen me, Lord
This is what I long to be like..
“ REMEMBER...
"The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything. And help them find their way.”
This is what I should be doing more of..
I heard a sermon once by a Youth Pastor on the ‘mountain of foriveness’..We climb up the mountain and sometimes go off on the wrong path.. We deviate for a while then realize we have to come back to the main path again.
We may have accumulated some ‘baggage’ whilst being sidetracked, yet this baggage can be carried by one who is ‘greater and stronger’ than us IF IF IF we will give it to him and let him.
No matter how many times on the way to reaching our goal we may end up being sidetracked, we have to accept GOD’s forgiveness and start climbing back up again.
I am like that person who is still HOLDING for dear life her ‘baggage’… A person who won’t let go of it and trust and believe God to handle it.
A person in a pit of mire who KNOWS God can do it, but wont let go and get out of the boat and go for it.
Thanks for posting back Suzet.
I really appreciated it.
It has given me chance to understand myself more.
Kas

Hi Suzet*,
Thanks for the positive note to start the week! I'm going to add those poems to my "collection".
Here's something else I found helpful, with so many unanswered questions in my heart:
"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Do not now seek the answers which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them and the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer."
-Rainer Maria Rilke, from "Letters to a Young Poet"

Onlywords,
You’re welcome! Thanks for the quote you have given as well. Everything that happens to us in life I see as a learning process. The following 2 phrases from the poem “Sometimes” reflect this perfectly:
Sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.
The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.

All: I'm reading the book "Purpose Driven Life." In it the author states a couple of things I'd like to share: God has a purpose behind every problem.
He uses circumstances to develop our character. Every time you solve a problem, another one is there to take its place. Not all of them are big, but all are significant in God's growth process for you.
Also, God never wastes a pain.
I look at all this pain that is being shared on the board recently and I see lots of growth potential. Use this pain to draw closer to God.
God Bless! RH

Recovering H,
Thanks for sharing that special message - it is so true! It’s indeed wonderful how God can use painful experiences positively in our lives if we just trust Him and allow Him to work through those experiences.
Blessings, Suzet

Something else I also want to share today:
YOU AND GOD
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of being selfish, and having ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
What you spend years building, someone may try to destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you have anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it’s between you and God… It was never between you and them anyway. [ June 29, 2004, 03:23 AM: Message edited by: Suzet* ]
