Gloria Estefan. It's called "All That I Wish You Is Love."
To me, it spoke to what happens in Plan B. Read the lyrics.
The day I was born I knew a lot of things But now that I’m grown I’m just remembering Where I have been. Might’ve we met before Suddenly something has led you back To my door Looking to settle the score But no more
Deceive me, hurt and mislead me All that I wish you is love Abuse me, damage and use me All that I wish you is love
Believe me it’s hard to turn the other cheek Faithful and kind Might be confused for weak An innocent streak I’m learning a lot from you Making me stronger each time you think I’ve been beat Whatever you scatter you reap But down deep
Defeat me, shame and mistreat me All that I wish you is love Despise me, lie, criticize me All that I wish you is love
I may not forget, but I forgive you If it happens again The way that I grew, I owe it to you I have you to thank
Deceive me, hurt and mislead me All that I wish you is love Abuse me, damage and use me All that I wish you is love
Defeat me, shame and mistreat me All that I wish you is love Despise me, lie criticize me All that I wish you is love All that I wish you is love

And another one. By Extreme. "More Than Words"
For those of us who have dealt with a spouse/partner who has repeatedly made promises, who has used the right words, but not followed up with behavior, this will become almost a mantra.
I got to thinking...what if, what if we couldn't hear? What if we couldn't read? What if the only way our spouses could prove their love and their commitment was to show it? To behave in a committed and loving way? How different would our recoveries be? And how different our marriages!
Anyway, here are the lyrics:
Sayin I love you Is not the words I want to hear from you It's not that I want you not to say But if you only knew How easy it would be to show me how you feel More than words is all you have to do to make it real Then you wouldn't have to say That you love me Cause I'd already know
What would you do If my heart was torn in two More than words to show you feel That your love for me is real
What would you say If I took those words away Then you couldn't make things new Just by saying I love you
More than words...
Now that I've tried to Talk to you and make you understand All you have to do is Close your eyes and just reach out your hand
And touch me Hold me close don't ever let me go More than words is all I ever needed you to show Then you wouldn't have to say That you love me Cause I'd already know
What would you do If my heart was torn in two More than words to show you feel That your love for me is real
What would you say If I took those words away Then you couldn't make things new Just by saying I love you

Smile Smile, though your heart is aching, smile, even though it's breaking!
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by!
If you smile through your fear an' sorrow, smile and maybe tomorrow, you'll see the sun come shining through for you! Light up your face with gladness, hide every trace of sadness, although a tear may be ever so near, that's the time you must keep on tryin', smile, what's the use of cryin' ? you'll find that life is still worthwhile, if you'll just smile! That's the time you must keep on tryin', smile, what's the use of cryin' ? you'll find that life is still worthwhile, if you'll just smile!

I first heard this song a week before I discovered my W's EA. I must say the lyrics struct me like a board in the forehead
At least it gives hope that things might work out
LeAnn Rimes - Last Thing On My Mind (Duet With Ronan Keating)
Four O'Clock in the morning My minds filled with a thousand thoughts of you And how you left without warning But looking back I'm sure you tried to talk it through
Now I see it so clearly We're together but living separate lives So I wanna tell you I'm sorry Baby I can't find the words But if I could, then you know I would Yeah
No I won't let go, know what we can be I won't watch my life crashing down on me Guess I had it all right there before my eyes, yeah (Girl) I'm sorry now you were the last thing on my mind
You carried me like a river How far we've come it still surprises me And now I look in the mirror Staring back is a man I used to be, with you How I long for you, yeah
No I won't let go, know what we can be I won't watch my life crashing down on me Guess I had it all right there before my eyes, yeah (Girl) I'm sorry now you were the last thing on my mind
Oh I'm sorry now, you were the last thing on my mind Girl, I'm sorry I was wrong Could have been there Should have been so strong So I'm sorry
No I won't let go, know what we can be I won't watch my life crashing down on me Guess I had it all right there before my eyes, yeah (Girl) I'm sorry now you were the last thing on my mind
I won't watch my life crashing down on me Guess I had it all right there before my eyes, yeah (Girl) I'm sorry now, you were the last thing on my mind
On my mind On my mind
Hanging in there

Tammy Cochran If You Can
Are you awake; are you asleep? It's hard to tell with your back to me Turn around and face me, if you can. Are you afraid what I might see If you should look at me. Now, tell me about her, if you can
If you can look me in the eye and say we're over If you can kiss my lips and feel no fire inside If you can hold my body close and still say you love her most Then you can walk out of my life, if you can.
Everyone makes mistakes; tell me she's the one you made And I'll forgive, and I'll forget, if you can. Who was right and who was wrong Doesn't matter if the love is gone. Honey, I'll keep holding on, if you can.
If you can look me in the eye and say we're over If you can kiss my lips and feel no fire inside If you can hold my body close and still say you love her most Then you can walk out of my life, if you can. You can walk out of my life, if you can.

Kenny Chesney: When I Think About Leaving
This song is one of my favorites and also one of my girls favorites. I was playing the CD when this just happened to come on with WH in the car this week. The kids, as I expected, started singing with gusto because they like it. It hit home with him, especially sections 5 & 6 as written below.
************************************************* You know some times me and my lady have these crazy fights and when we do it makes me wonder Are we're ever gonna get it right
When I think about leaving I think about me What my life would be like if I were back to being free Go where I wanna go, do what I wanna do, wouldn't have a soul I had to answer to When I think about leaving I think about me
You know I got a friend him and his wife just couldn't see eye to eye he had all he could stand one day and just packed up and said good-bye
When I think about leaving I think about him That little apartment cross town he's living in Got an old corvette, got a new girlfriend, but only sees his kids every other weekend When I think about leaving oh I think about him
I never will forget her face or the day she told me about her dad, how he walked out on her and her mom when she was just a kid
When I think about leaving oh I think about her Only five years old and her heart filled up with hurt With her little arms wrapped around his neck saying daddy where you going, are you coming back When I think about leaving I think about her
You know the truth is, most of the time things were really great and I know we got something special When I think about leaving I think about us How we build this love we share on faith and trust, honest way we talk, tender way we touch, All those nights we spent making love, When I think about leaving oh I think about us
When I think about leaving I think again Even though that thought crosses my mind every now and then In my heart I know I would never leave, there's nowhere else on earth I would rather be When I think about leaving I think again
When I think about leaving When I think about leaving When I think about leaving:I think again

Rod Stewart sings the version I like best, but Sheryl Crow sings "First Cut" now.
My votes go tp Martina McBride for How Far AND Where Would You Be?

Okay:
Time for some lyrics that say something else!
"Scatterlings of Africa" - Juluka
"Copper sun sinking low Scatterlings and fugitives Hooded eyes and weary brows Seek refuge in the night
Chorus: They are the scatterlings of Africa Each uprooted one On the road to Phelamanga Where the world began I love the scatterlings of Africa Each and every one In their hearts a burning hunger Beneath the copper sun
Ancient bones from Olduvai Echoes of the very first cry "Who made me here and why Beneath the copper sun?" African idea African idea Make the future clear Make the future clear
Chorus..... And we are the scatterlings of Africa Both you and I We are on the road to Phelamanga Beneath a copper sky And we are the scatterlings of Africa On a journey to the stars Far below, we leave forever Dreams of what we were"

This track perfectly describes my dark days.
Alice in Chains, Rain when I die
Is she ready to know my frustration? What she slippin' inside, slow castration I'm a riddle so strong, you can't break me Did she come here to try, try to take me Did she call my name? I think it's gonna rain When I die Was it something I said, held against me? Ain't no life on the run, slowly climbing Caught in ice so she stares, stares at nothing I can help her but won't, now she hates me
Did she call my name? I think it's gonna rain When I die
She won't let me hide She don't want me to cry
Will she keep on the ground, trying to ground me Slowly forgive my lie, lying to save me Could she love me again, or will she hate me Prob'ly not, I know why, can't explain me
Did she call my name? I think it's gonna rain When I die

**THREADJACK IN PROCESS**
Bob...if I don't get a chance to say later, take it easy! Have fun with your trip coming up. You seem to enjoy it, they seem to like you, and obviously you're good at what you do. "See" ya later!
(Holding up my bottle of Corona...Cheers, my friend!)

SHERYL CROW LYRICS
The First Cut Is The Deepest
I would have given you all of my heart But there's someone who's torn it apart And he's taken just all that i have But if you want i'll try to love again Baby, i'll try to love again, but i know...
The first cut is the deepest Baby i know The first cut is the deepest But when it comes to bein' lucky, he's cursed When it comes to lovin' me, he's worse...
I still want you by my side Just to help me dry the tears that i've cried And i'm sure gonna give you a try If you want i'll try to love again, (try) Baby, i'll try to love again, but i know...
OOHHH, The first cut is the deepest Baby i know The first cut is the deepest But when it comes to bein' lucky, he's cursed But when it comes to lovin' me, he's worse...
I still want you by my side Just to help me dry the tears that i've cried But i'm sure gonna give you a try Cuz if you want i'll try to love again (try to love again, try to love again) Baby, i'll try to love again but i know, OOHHH....
The first cut is the deepest Baby i know The first cut is the deepest When it comes to bein' lucky, he's cursed When it comes to lovin' me, he's worse
OOHHH, the first cut is the deepest Baby i know (baby i know) The first cut is the deepest Try to love again...
and "The Picture" by Sheryl Crowe and Kid Rock:
Lyrics:
(Kid Rock) Livin' my life in a slow hell Different girl every night at the hotel I aint seen the sun shine in 3 damn days
Been fuelin' up on cocaine and whisky Wish I had a good girl to miss me Lord I wonder if I'll ever change my ways
I put your picture away Sat down and cried today I can't look at you, while I'm lyin' next to her I put your picture away, sat down and cried today I can't look at you, while I'm lyin' next to her
(Sherly Crow) I called you last night in the hotel Everyone knows but they wont tell But their half hearted smiles tell me Somethin' just ain't right I been waitin' on you for a long time Fuelin' up on heartaches and cheap wine I ain't heard from you in 3 damn nights
I put your picture away I wonder where you been I can't look at you while I'm lyin' next to him I put your picture away I wonder where you been I can't look at you while I'm lyin' next to him
I saw ya yesterday with an old friend
(Kid Rock) It was the same ole same 'how have you been'
(Both) Since you been gone my worlds been dark & grey
(Kid Rock) You reminded me of brighter days
(Sheryl Crow) I hoped you were comin' home to stay I was headed to church
(Kid Rock) I was off to drink you away
(Both) I thought about you for a long time Can't seem to get you off my mind I can't understand why we're living life this way
I found your picture today I swear I'll change my ways I just called to say I want you to come back home
I found your picture today I swear I'll change my ways I just called to say I want you to come back home I just called to say, I love you come back home [ August 31, 2004, 09:22 AM: Message edited by: New Outlook ]

"The Picture" by Sheryl Crowe and Kid Rock:
This is the song that my H dedicated to me upon his return to our home. He told me that night that the words in that song describe the way he felt the whole time we were separated. He was heavily drinking, doing drugs, and pursuing OW. So now, that's our new song. Both of us trying to start fresh.

Foo Fighters Times Like These
I, I'm a one way motorway I'm a road that drives away Then follows you back home I, I'm a street light shining I'm a white light blinding bright Burning off and on
It's times like these you learn to live again It's times like these you give and give again It's times like these you learn to love again It's times like these time and time again
I, I'm a new day rising I'm a brand new sky To hang the stars upon tonight I, I'm a little divided Do I stay or run away And leave it all behind?
It's times like these you learn to live again It's times like these you give and give again It's times like these you learn to love again It's times like these time and time again [ September 15, 2004, 09:54 AM: Message edited by: graycloud ]

MACY GRAY LYRICS
She Ain't Right For You
Wrote me in a letter that she makes u feel better and all of the Things u said to her but I feel what I feel, it’s real.
She ain’t right for you she don’t know you like I do, no matter What she do she ain’t right for you, don’t u want to be happy? Baby u should stay with me ‘cause she ain’t right for you – she Don’t love you like I do.
Turn me around. Turn me upside down sporting the tears of a Clown but I feel what I feel, it’s real.
She ain’t right for you she don’t know you like I do, no matter What she do she ain’t right for you, don’t u want to be happy? Baby u should stay with me ‘cause she ain’t right for you – she Don’t love you like I do.
They will say that I spend all my days chasing a love that she Took away but I feel what I feel.
You know baby I’ve been trying to tell you for a mighty long Time now that u can keep looking u can keep searching all Over the world. Trying to find a find a love like mine but the real Thing is right here baby and no matter what she say no matter What she do, she don’t like u like I do.
She ain’t right for you she don’t know you like I do, no matter What she do she ain’t right for you, don’t u want to be happy? Baby u should stay with me ‘cause she ain’t right for you – she Don’t love you like I do.
They will say that I spend all my days chasing a love that she Took away but I feel what I feel

This one is by a friend... He walks through the night alone Wondering, “what have I done?” It wasn’t for want of love Love didn’t figure at all
She spends her night alone Crying for what he had done Had broken her heart for good Hardly believing that he could throw it...
All for a loveless night Only one careless night He finds himself losing through it all All for a loveless night
Calling against her will Knowing he loves her still She’s had some time alone Maybe she’ll take him back home
Softly he speaks her name And asks her to try it again She doesn’t think she could Knowing forever that he could throw it...
All for a Loveless Night by Steve Bell you can listen to a clip here: click here Shul

My turn! These are all Joshua Kadison from Painted Desert Serenade. The original I had was a cassette that ended up worn out from play. They were just pretty songs back then. Now, these all have some significance regarding the A. I've actually bought three copies since dday. My 18 year old son took off with the first, my H took the next, and finally I got a copy just for me and have no idea where it is. Maybe, I just haven't looked very hard. They make me kinda' sad.
#1 PreA We both loved this song. I hope one day H can put it on and I feel like he really believes.
'Beautiful in My Eyes'
You're my peace of mind, in this crazy world You're everything I've tried to find Your love is a pearl You're my Mona Lisa, You're my rainbow skies And my only prayer is that you realize... You'll always be beautiful in my eyes
The world will turn, And the seasons will change And all the lessons we will learn Will be beautiful and strange We'll have our fill of tears, our share of sighs My only prayer is that you realize... You'll always be beautiful in my eyes.
You will always be Beautiful in my eyes And the passing years will show That you will always grow Ever more beautiful in my eyes.
And there are lines upon my face, From a lifetime of smiles When the time comes to embrace For one long last while We can laugh about How time really flies We won't say goodbye Cause true love never dies You'll always be beautiful in my eyes.
#2 Describes oh, so well, how I felt during the A
'Invisible Man'
Woke up this morning with a funny feeling, wasn't really sure what it was all about. Felt like I was disappearing, so I ran to the mirror to check it out. I said, Here I am, here I am, here I am ........ but why do I feel like the invisible man?
I stumbled back into the bedroom, and stared out at the rising sun. Then I heard myself shout out the window, Not really talking to anyone. I yelled, Here I am, here I am, here I am,..... but why do I feel like the invisible man?
Lights went on, people started yelling, Will the crazy man go back to bed. And there I was laughing out my window, feeling much better now, Somebody heard what I said.
Well, it's no big thing, no revelation, no answer to these lives we lead. But I think I do know one thing: Sometimes I think we all need to say, Here I am, here I am, here I am, when life makes us feel like the invisible man.
#3 Just want the H to listen to this one again as a refresher course on what to do after a trigger.
'When a Woman Cries'
When a woman cries, when a woman cries, she can wash your world away. When storms fill her eyes, you never know what to say.
Don't say a word, don't say anything. She don't need your truth or lies. Just hold her close and love her, when a woman cries.
When a woman cries, when a woman cries, there is no sadder song. So you apologize, you apologize, even if you don't know what you've done wrong.
But if you really want to make her happy, to stop her sobbing and her sighs, just hold her close and love her, when a woman cries.
Now, don't waste your time thinking 'bout the right thing to say. Just put your arms around her 'til the clouds roll away.
When a woman cries, when a woman cries, she can tear your dreams apart. When storms fill her eyes, when storms fill her eyes, It can break a... break a man's heart.
And if you find that you're crying too, don't let it come as no surprise Just hold her close and love her when your woman cries.
I enjoyed typing those out. Great thread! [ September 09, 2004, 01:37 AM: Message edited by: marsmom ]

I heard this on the radio a little while ago and it caught the mood I found myself in this morning.
I'm back to my hopeful self right now, but it felt good to sing this at the top of my lungs while cleaning the house and dancing. My eight month old thinks I'm the funniest thing around!
It's a nice upbeat song too so it helped my mood! ********************************************
Jo Dee Messina - Bye Bye Lyrics
Boy you sure look good there standin' in the doorway in the sunset light Maybe I read you wrong thinkin' you could be my Mr. Right I was puttin' my heart and soul on the line Said you needed some time, just a little more time to make up your mind Well it's been long enough Time is up
Bye bye love, I'll catch you later Got a lead foot down on my accelerator and the rearview mirror torn off I ain't never lookin' back. And that's a fact. I've tried all I can imagine I've begged and pleaded in true lover's fashion I've got pride, I'm takin' it for a ride Bye bye, bye bye my baby, bye bye
Don't think all those tears are gonna hold me here like they've done before You'll find what's left of us in a cloud of dust on highway 4 Baby what did you expect me to do Just sit around and wait on you Well I'm through watchin' you just skate around the truth And I know it sounds trite I've seen the light
Bye bye love, I'll catch you later Got a lead foot down on my accelerator and the rearview mirror torn off 'Cause I ain't never lookin' back, and that's a fact. I've tried all I can imagine I've begged and pleaded in true lover's fashion I've got pride, I'm takin' it for a ride Bye bye, bye bye my baby, bye bye
I'd lost the game I guess I did my best to win the part Now I'm leavin' here with what's left of my heart. Bye bye, I'll catch you later Got a lead foot down on my accelerator and the rearview mirror torn off 'Cause I ain't never lookin' back. You can count on that. I've tried all I can imagine I've begged and pleaded in true lover's fashion I've got pride, I'm takin' it for a ride Bye bye, bye bye my baby, bye bye

A song probably motivated by 9/11, but it's about any loss, really...
You're Missing Bruce Springsteen
Shirts in the closet Shoes in the hall Mama's in the kitchen Baby in the hall
Everything is everything Everything is everything But you're missing
Coffee cup's on the counter Jacket's on the chair Paper's on the doorstep But you're not there
Everything is everything Everything is everything But you're missing
Picture's on the nightstand TV's on in the den Your house is waiting Your house is waiting
For you to walk in For you to walk in But you're missing You're missing
You're missing When I shut out the lights You're missing When I close my eyes You're missing When I see the sun rise You're missing
Children are askin' if it's alright Will you be in our arms tonight
Morning is morning The evening falls I got too much room in my bed Too many phone calls
"How's everything", everything Everything, everything But you're missing You're missing
God's driftin' in heaven Devil's in the mailbox Got dust on my shoes Nothin' but teardrops

Don't know if this has been posted but I wrote it in a card that I sent to my wife who I am desperatly trying to get back. Hoobastank- The Reason
I'm not a perfect person There's many things I wish I didn't do But I continue learning I never meant to do those things to you And so I have to say before I go That I just want you to know
(chorus) I've found a reason for me to change who I used to be A reason to start over new And the reason is you
I'm sorry that I hurt you It's something I must live with everyday And all the pain I put you through I wish I could take it all away And be the one who catches all your tears That's why I need you to hear
chorus
I'm not a perfect person I never meant to do those things to you And so I have to say before I go That I just want you to know
I found a reason for me To change who I used to be A reason to start over new And the reason is you
I've found a reason to show A side of me you didn't know A reason for all that I do And the reason is you [ September 12, 2004, 02:53 PM: Message edited by: firemob1 ]
