It would be fun to get together and collaborate. I am NOT joking when I say I have thought about writing a book about all of this. For me, writing is very therapeutic (which is why I probably write all the time, and too much on this site). But I am not sure what the book approach could be. Non-fiction, fiction, thriller, nightmare, comedy, tragedy? Not sure what to settle on yet!! :-)

Personally, I'd love to scream to the world the horrors attendant to internet addiction and chat. Imagine my predicament...I'm an IT Professional. I've got a house full (literally) of computers. It's like John Browning being shot by one of his own guns!

I've dabbled in some writing myself over the years. Did a lot when I was younger, even had a couple short stories published in some scholastic literary magazines. About 8 years ago wrote a history book for a local fire department.

I think I could be interested in chatting about your book DipiT, but only as a case study maybe. It is still really painful, even embarrasing for me to even think about, but of course that is where my mind dwells most of the time. But as odd as it sounds it does calm me a little when I talk about it. I guess the internal thinking tears me up and the conversation somehow, releases the stress.

But Yes. Lets talk about it.

Well this is quite a group…

I too enjoy writing. For my own edification of course. I find that reducing my thoughts to writing helps focus and clarify my feelings. I've started a journal (second one - been here before), and find it interesting to track the common threads running through both.

The poetry helps express my sorrow and provides an outlet for the anguish and hurt feelings, while the daily "log" provides tangible markers on progress (or lack there of) that's being made. Someone here said that this "process" must be taken "in small steps" and "one step at a time", so my journal tends to documents (for myself) these steps. Without this, I believe that any progress would be difficult to follow, but we have to believe that we are indeed MAKING progress. Without that, it's very difficult to maintain the "fight".

My journal leads off with this…They say idle hands are the devil's plaything…Well, an idle mind is a far more destructive tool.

Ok...this may sound stupid, but now I feel a little bit inspired. Who'd have thunk it. A bunch of literary BS. Maybe we can compile a collection of poetry and short stories???? Maybe we can let this board be our testing ground.

Or, we could just meet up at skippers, drink some beer and eat some shrimp, watch the sunset, and Help each other devise strategies for the recovery of our lives. Kinda like the detailed plan that dleightnc wrote. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

serendipiT - There is a bay area group of marriagebuilders that gets together. You could have a Florida one. Check with orchid and redhat. They seem to have a great time.

As far as a detailed recovery plan ... I have always been considered by others as a "detail" man. I've always said "it's all in the details"
But I don't think I can come close to Dleightonc.

My gosh is every BS here from Florida? So am I. Good Lord, what's in the water in the Sunshine State? We need to write Jeb Bush and get the EPA to look into it. Someone said Bay area. Is that where all of you are? I'm in the panhandle. I used to live in Tampa.

Darn, I wish I lived in Fla. Does anyone have frequent flier miles I could use so I can come to your writing/support group? I've actually thought of writing all this drama down one day also. If I told H this he would be thoroughly freaked out of course.
