My W and I were beating the dead horse last night and she was telling my for the nth time how she told me and complained to me about my lack of attention to her and me not meeting her ENs prior to the A... and I said, "yeah but you complain all the time!"

OOPS!! As soon as I said it I knew!! (Do I know my wife or what?) Anyway things went downhill from there, but as I think about it more, I wonder;

Would you consider your WS a complainer more than not a complainer? Comments??

I think you screwed up big time buddy. And if I were you I would make amends in a big way. A major apology is in order with flowers and dinner.

And also read a copy of "His Needs/Her Needs", if you haven't already.

Have you read Harleys rules of a happy marriage on the main part of this website?

If she keeps complaining and has become a "complainer" it very well could be because you are not listening.

weaver,

I read His Needs/Her Needs. I know how I screwed up on the EN's. She had the PA because of it.

My question/theory is the WS are complainers and not easily satisfied.

Are there any WS out there that are happy and contented?

need to chime in on this subject. My WW was,has and always will be one of the champion complainers of all time. It used to be a running joke anytime we went any distance in the car at how long it would take her to complain about something. Her record was 23 minutes, most were in the 5-6 minute class. Now I am a pretty simple guy that does not need much and as I have said in previous posts I have been Plan A'ing her for the 8 years since I've known her. Once I found out about the A I went immediately into Plan B. I know that flies in the face of MB philosphy but it is reality.

There are some personality types that make complaining an integral part of their lives. I know I will catch hell for this( I am far from a misogynist) but the female species wins this hands down. I don't know if this is part of the greater game of control or something on a deeper level. ( I only got half way through my masters in Psch before med school)

Well I'm not a WS so I guess I can't answer that, but I did break up with my fiance because I felt he never "heard" me. And that in itself caused huge problems aside from many others, but until he "heard" what I needed their was no going any further.

I do know wayward spouses who are not at all "complainers", but they were not getting what they needed from their spouse and so were very frustrated and unhappy in their marriage, which I suppose often spilt over into the rest of their lives.

My WH was not a complainer but pulled away from the marriage insidiously without ever sitting me down to say we have a serious problem honey or anything like that. He's not a talker when it came to the relationship. If I had known that he was unhappy in any way,I would have done anything to make it better. That's the truly sad part for me.He is not giving us any chance.Even after 20 years together, all that is going to be lost.

... and I said, "yeah but you complain all the time!"

How does your mouth feel? Did you knock out any teeth when you slammed your foot into your mouth?

Well, I guess if your point was to distance your wife further away from you ... mission accomplished!

And... to nag you further (you're welcome <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> no need to send me a thank-you note <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> ) .... Is the question you ask on this thread intended to help recover your marriage?
