As you may know I was served yesterday with a Vegas Divorce, we live in NJ. Today I'm going to find an attorney,

What questions should I ask?

I only have 19 days to contest or countersue, so I need an attorney immediately.

If anyone can share their past experiences or what I should look for in a good attorney, I would greatly appreciated it.

I need all the help I can get. Thanks

Should I ask about fees?

Many of them say free initial consultation...

Get cracking...

Just start with your phone book, looking for lawyers specializing in family law.

Lawyers are busy folks, you may need to call several before one is available.

Good luck, and I'm so sorry you are going through this. I'll be praying for you.

Contact Clark County Family Law Self-Help Center at the following:

http://www.co.clark.nv.us/district_court/self_help_glance.htm

At the very least they may be able to give you some answers.

Do you and H have children? If not, I'd be inclined to answer this complaint using their online form #19. However if you do this, both you and H will need to appear in court.

If you call Clark County, ask them about jursdiction. If you believe H is not residing in NV, then NV does not have jurisdiction. For this they recommend you have an attorney.

Good Luck
