I think all of our readers need to go to this Fox site and give them feedback on the moral position they take by even publishing the websites involved. Fox is SUPPOSED to be the conservative voice of the media. This article would seem to refute that position http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,127964,00.html

My God! The internet is great but not a helping our culture. What kind of low life scumbags run those sites geared to destroy families? Unbelievable. The world is getting very sad.

Oh. Did u catch the last part though?
Family counselor Brett Williams said cheating Web sites are making it easy for people to stray and helping to ruin families.
“They’re basically destroying the fabric of our society,” Williams said. “Our society is built on family units. Once that decays, we’re not going to have much of a society.”
At least the article isn't in support of that crap.

Here goes. I'm closing my eyes and scrunching up my face while I say this...
Fox News is not the conservative voice of the media. They are the Republican-National-Committee-authored-spin voice of the media. A very different animal.
Full disclosure: I am neither conservative nor a Republican.

Graycloud,
I did not mean to turn this into a political discussion, it was the subject matter that I was concerned about. I hope that there are a lot more that the 4 posters here that have contacted foxnewsonline about their story.
I wish we had the ability to see how OFTEN our posts are read/accessed to give us a better idea of the amount of traffic a post actually draws in terms of readership

Great, as if cheating spouses don't have it easy enough.
My WW probably has already been to some of those sites. If she sees this article she'll visit them all.

Gross.
Even more reason for me not to leave my home.
The last part of the article really struck a cord because it's how I feel too.If families continue to break down like they are without prevention in place to help families cope with stresses and deal with each other then people will still keep thinking the answer is out somewhere else.
This is another opportunity for me to say that I REALLY want to see punishment come back for adulterers and those also involved with married men/women.Unless we make it a serious offense to be a part of destroying marriages and families,it's going to keep happening if there's no deterrent. We put people away for stealing, why not adultery???? Maybe not to jail but hit them in the pocket book.Community service, anything.
I am definitely going to give my opinion on the fox website and in general,I think TV has really tanked big time in this day and age.It seems there is more and more emphasis put on celebrity and young rising "stars" and singers and more and more ridiculous shows like Who wants to marry my dad or bachelor or bachelorette/I LOATHE those shows and don't watch them.I figure I will use my ability to choose and not watch those shows to decrease,at least by one,the numbers and that I do not approve of what is being shown on TV.
I'll stick to TVLand,if at all, where the older shows with meaning and substance are much more worthwhile to me.
O
P.S. GC,I agree with you on your take of Fox.I am a Democrat and I want Bush outta there! Go KERRY! [ August 04, 2004, 06:58 PM: Message edited by: Octobergirl ]

That site reminded me of another e-mail I got from someone who saw my profile online. Just as a note my profile said I am not interested in anything with anyone.
The e-mail goes as follows: Hi Ivy!
Would you like to have a nsa relationship with me I am R, 31 yrs old, Mexican, romantic, passionate, healthy, clean, engineer, musician. Thin. We can meet whenever you want or we can just be friends. I am married too, so we can only meet sporadically. So I offer you my friendship but secret
Let me know R
?!?!?! I got one like this a few weeks ago if ya'll remember. It got me sooooo angry.

The busiest cheating website has 160,000 members! This clean, wholesome family oriented website has what 36,000 members - huh!
Makes me sad, very sad. Exactly why I hate to get back into the dating game. Can you imagine what it will be like when my nine yr old daughter comes of age? Makes me sick to think about it.
I'll definately be sending an email, but have to chew on what I will say overnight.

Oh my gosh - I just though of something -
Can you imagine how busy MB's forum is going to get with the fallout of just that one cheating website? Good lord it'll be so busy here no one will be able to get a word in edgewise. We'll all be on major AD's just reading all that extra pain.
Cymanca is right - if all of us MB members would send Fox an email, all 36600 of us, Fox may notice. Let's do it!

Hey Cymance -
Can you give us an example of what to say in the email?
All I can come up with is "you suck!" I need an example of a short but effective statement.
Thanks

Good grief. The people that run these websites know fogese!

quote:
Those who run the site say they aren’t encouraging infidelity, but they understand it and are providing a service to those who have already decided to cheat on a spouse.

What the he!!??? Oooookkkaaaayyyyy. That makes no sense. Anyway, Weaver 1)has a good point, and 2)made me laugh out loud.
