I've used Starr for years. It is virtually undetectable. The only program that ever caught it was Panda Antivirus which is easy enough to avoid. I've gotten plenty of viruses but none affected the program. You can change the settings for what you want it to record and how long you want it to run without deleting the info, or it will run indefinitely if you want it to.

One warning though... if you have it capture screen shots, you need to be diligent in looking/saving/deleting the logs or the screen shots will clog your computer up. Once I let it go too long and had nearly 2 GIGS of memory used up by the screenshots!!

One caution though... use this only if you are ready to ACT on whatever you find. If you're not ready to act, it will just make you MISERABLE. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss.

Also, if you are wanting to use the information you obtain as legal evidence, check out the laws where you live. In some places, using this type of program without the users knowledge is illegal. I know Starr does have a splash screen which informs users that they are being monitored, which can be disabled.

Good luck!

1. Have only used Starr and really like it

2. This is not the type of “spyware” that those programs detect – I have never found a program that detected Starr

3. It can easily be copied onto a disk or saved or printed off - you can also EMAIL the reports to yourself very quickly. Scroll down under 'file' and select "send to" and email to yourself. Then delete in outgoing mail.

4. You can set the number of kbps that the program will store before it deletes and starts over – I had set it at 1200 and it saves several days

5. I have never had a virus or other glitch expose the software

6. Again, different type of spyware altogether

7. As far as Starr goes, the answer is yes. You can always install in invisible mode as long as it is installed from disk and NOT from the website as you download it – select ‘save to disk’ when you DL it otherwise it will auto install from the website and default to VISIBLE mode

2 tips I can think of: pay for the software and get the key code. Otherwise it will be in “trial” mode which can be detected upon restart. Restart the computer after install to ENSURE that you have installed it correctly.
