But all seriousness aside, I am doing really well. My life is absolutely totally out of control right now and now that I'm looking through sober eyes it's OK for everything else to be out of control as long as I control me.

Kids are doing wonderful, getting ready for school to start. My oldest is getting ready to start High School, which reminds me I need to sharpen my axe.....

Can't imagine your oldest is going to high school already. My nephew's school just finished a program last year called 'every 15 minutes'. My nephew was one of the actors in a drunken driver accident. I just saw the dvd yesterday. Very realistic. The program includes, local police, firefighters, ambulance, hospital, teachers, students and parents. It was filmed with the accident, furneral, ER room and even the parents participated. I cried just watching the movie. It started out with 1 student being removed from class and kept away from everyone (including family) for 3 days. It was to appear they were dead (as victims of drunken driving), the victims wrote letters to their parents and the parents wrote letters to their children, some of those letters were read at the funeral. My SIL and BIL were the parents of one of the victims. Nephew's character died at the hospital and they had to go in and view his body. SIL let out a blood curdling scream in the movie. I think all teenage parents should see something like this with their children. Better yet if schools could have programs like this. It really impacted the kids. I saw some in the bleechers watching the movie and crying. Very very heart wrenching.

So much for my tear jerker story. If I can get a copy of that dvd I will send it to other parents if they want.

Well, Ms Peachy seems t/b busy these days. I spoke with her a couple of weeks ago. She is doing fine. Her little one is getting ready for school also.

That video sounds awesome and I love to see it. Back in January, I attempted to star in my own Drunken Driver Video. Upon impact with said concrete bridge I realized the director hadn't said "ACTION"..... Anyways 19 breaks, 2 steel plates, one steel rod, two surgeries, and 19 steel pins later I'd rather watch the video than try to make my own....

I hollored at peachy after the son's 1st day and everything was everything.....

Hey Orchid, I would like a copy of the DVD or video, I am the SADD Advisor at school. It's stundents against destructive decisions. We touch on a lot of different area.

Bill I am sure that there are people out there that need to hear your message when you are ready to share it, and share it with humor if you can it usually reaches the kids. I have a SADD Day every year before prom and bring different speakers, this year I had a lady that was in a vechicle with a DD he was killed and she in a wheel chair with her was a young man the was a DD and killed an elderly man, they had some impact on the kids.

You are fortunate that you are okay, it sounds, and also blessed to be able to look back on what sounds really painful with some humor.

I just filed D papers on my WH today. Among other things (oh, like being an adulterer...), he is also an alcoholic, and one who has no qualms about driving that way. He has had 2 DWI convictions--the first coupled with a rollover accident that sent him through the front window of the vehicle. He escaped somehow with various cuts, a mild concussion, and a broken arm.

My very STRONG point!!: I don't know your history at all, but if you're sober now, do everything in your power to stay that way!!

Alcohol can ruin lives. I live in constant fear that he will have another accident and kill himself or someone else.
