OK folks, this is so ironic it's funny!

Tomorrow is our 25th anniversary. It is also the 3rd anniversary of D-day. Very unfortunate to have to tie those events to the same date.

Anyway, my H planned a trip for us to fly to New Orleans. We are going to... get this- THE D-DAY MUSEUM!(as in WWII) Not being an MB'er, my H has no idea how funny this really is!

We are staying in the garden district, eating at a wonderful place for dinner and going to the French Quarter for a drink also. It should be a fun trip, but I won't be able to keep from smirking as we enter the D-DAY MUSEUM!

IT's nice to hear that you have a sense of humor about it. I'm not yet one year from Dday and I know I'd freak if it was me! Gives me hope that someday I will be in the place you are!

Have a great anniversary

Thanks for the good wishes, Y'all!

Fraggles, I did not even acknowledge our anniv. the 1st 2 years after d-day, it was too painful.

Being 25 years this year, I realized that I needed to reclaim the day and make it a happy memory instead of holding on to the horrible ones. It took me 3 years to get to this point!

I think I was a slow MB learner, but I kept trying. I am seeing light out of a very dark tunnell. I'll have a hurricane at Pat O'briens for you!

Got to go , I'm packing lacy black things, hope my suitcase does not get searched!

Thanks for the good wishes everyone!

We had a wonderful trip, red beans, rice and creole soup for lunch, took the streetcar through the garden district (fabulous mansions lining the streets!) went to the d-day museum (very educational and sobering) walked down Bourbon Street and to the waterfront. THEN, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in out 1920's elegant hotel and off to an incredible dinner. We had some very quality time together after dinner and eggs benedict and fresh fruit for breakfast. We were home in about 24 hours! I'm tired just printing it out.

ANYWAY, it was a wonderful way to reclaim the day and take a very positive step towards lasting recovery. My time on this board helped me to overcome my negativity and take a chance on happiness, it feels really good.
