Hi FM,

I am sending a message of support. I think you are on the right track in going to the doctor to check out anti-d's--they really helped me. I do all the other things to relieve the burden--pray, read, exercise, connect with family and friends, in IC, but anti-d's helped me to turn a corner. Our sitch are similar--we have been in Plan A for a long time and we do not have very many people to expose to. Also contact has continued.

I went to the doctor the first time in April. He gave me free samples of anti-d's and a sedative at that time. I tried the one anti-d and it had side effects so I stopped. I thought I could make it without it. I went for months, took a sedative every now and then--but could not even out my moods and kept having destructive thoughts.

In July, the fog was lifting from WH and we were getting along--found out later because OW was out of town. End of July she came back and WH went back into a heavy fog. I started to go "crazy" could not concentrate at work and didn't want to eat again. After d-day I lost 17 pounds and at 5'6" and 115--it scared me that dropping more pounds would make me look like a stick figure! So I went back to the doctor and he prescribed another anti-d, Exxefor. It helped --no side effects. A few days after starting, it helped me to recover after catching WH talking with OW talking on cell phone; he wouldn't even hang up. After about two weeks, I got myself back which means I got my power back. I actually felt oddly good--like I was going to be okay no matter what happened. It also helped that I started to map out Plan B. I read that if you are starting to make plans, that means you are moving on. I started to research things I wanted to do (art classes, wine tastings, festivals) printed out a calendar and filled in the blanks.

So FM, I think you are on the right track. The anti-d's changed my outlook or at least helped me to get back my regular outlook. I have always been an optimistic person and been able to work through a lot of stuff on my own, but this one is a doosey. I feel less tragic now and have gotten myself back. I hope it will work as well for you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there FM.

FM....Man I feel your pain. But I also feel your change from the beginning of the post to the end. You may not know it, but your drive and desire are inspiring. You also know that you and I are almost in the same position. You've been at it longer than I but the situations are similar. Hang tough! You're helping others and helping yourself.

Lots of good information in this thread alone. The only thing I can add is back a couple you mentioned possible exposing A to WW's family. Based on the results I received from exposing to OM's mother, I say go for it. Even if they already "know"....what do they "know". OM's mother was told I was a Marriage Counselor. Exposure certainly worked in my case and that's actually the only one I exposed to....thus far.

Keep a good game plan and execute like you've been doing. I think I had a shift in thinking last night. Actually what several folks had stated in their replies to you....time to focus on me and my DD. Reading your posts, looks like you're well on your way.....

Good Luck......

Liny my Board Buddy, how's it going my 2 beer sloshing friend? Thank you for being here, and tell Brown

Yes Brown I caught your joke...hilarious!
YES I am refunding LINY's Liquor license for your benefit.
Do what works Liny, do what works. Take one for the team or several if necessary.

You two are terrific!

Liny
bout your outburst? Your human. Your not some robot. You did it. Regardless if it helped or not, it's done it happened. (Maybe she needed to see that side of FM. You are very passionate about anything you do. Maybe that will actually have a positive impact on your wife down the road. Who knows? Can't dwell on it though.

Eggzackly LINY, I did beat myself up about that, but my W knows me...she knows I'm a very impassioned person. I am me and I will express myself outwardly, emphaticlly *sp but I don't just do that when I'm up in arms, I express myself just as outwardly when I'm happy, when I feel loved...so for her to utilize a negative outburst to rationalize her own decisions to indulge herself in destructive behavior isn't fooling me. She knows I love her and she know I only freaked out because I love her. Thanks for the words reminding me that it's not my fault, I'm ONLY HUMAN minus the foot growing out my head and my ability to smell "skunky' Lager up to a 5 miole radius that is... Liny you make me wanna be a comedian...hahaha

Heroswife:
A movie and video games sounds exactly what the doctor ordered. I think that's a great idea.

I actually could sleep tonight! That's a great thing for a guy who was running off of fumes. I did manage 6 hours tonight but me and my son crashed so early there wasn't much time for the videos...tomorrow is another day and we'll USE IT UP!

After d-day I lost 17 pounds and at 5'6" and 115--it scared me that dropping more pounds would make me look like a stick figure!
You're no stick figure! Isn't 5'6, 115 obese compared to the runway models these days. You'd better do some cardio quick. But seriously I'm sure your just fine!

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there FM.

Thank you so much, I will do the same. Heroswife is a hero herself! Hang in there! If I have to you do too!

I read that if you are starting to make plans, that means you are moving on.

I will begin making plans that extend beyond just doing dad stuff. You're right I need to get out in the world and live a little. I have been focusing on this sitch far too long, I mean I cannot obsess about it any longer, it will destroy me if I continue beating myself up. Hey, there is life outside of your M right? Time to find some of it and rub it on my neck like sunshine! ..even when I don't want to.....gotta force it yah know? I'll just pretend its that last situp I hate to do but know it's good for me.

Thanks for the inspiring words! I've been feeling better since my slight breakdown. I'm good now. My W wrote me an email and it's just words to me, She is trying to have her cake and eat it too! I will not allow her to. I will paste a copy of it at the end of this message, just a reminder to how you must not listen to WORDS only actions.

I'm glad expressing my experiences and struggles are able to somehow help someone else. I believe in GOD and I'm growing more and more spiritual by the day and if he/she can find a way to utilize me as an inspiration...USE ME UP! I love this place!

I will think on calling OM's mom, I mean at this point what do I have to lose? I am feeling somewhat indifferent now, which is why I was hoping she'd wake up sooner rather than later. I've been at this a long time and I'm not sure if the door for her will remain ajar forever. I am firmly in plan B starting today, I just sent her my last email entitled "My Last Email". I'm drawing a line in the sand and she is now in the drivers seat, lets see if she can find her way home. I just hope she doesn't end up scratching my tire rims on the curb again

Plan A is over, Plan B is underway.

Here's a copy of the email my wife sent and I'llinclude a copy of what I sent here, which is my FINAL EMAIL.....comments are appreciated. Personally I dont care much for her words its her actions that concern me, she's been lying so long how can I hold stock in words? Stop seeing, contacting OM and we can be a family...it's that simple, it is not ROCKET SCIENCE.)

FM,
I don't know what you're sensing, but I'm not seeing anyone. I'm just afraid of making any mistakes and need time to get my thoughts together. I miss my babies and being there to hear about their first day of school. You count too and I'm so tired and frustrated with myself for not being what you need in a wife. I need to be there for more than the kids. I'm afraid if I come back, I'll be the one to cause the 'major blow ups' because you're tired of waiting
for me to 'come around'. I should already be 'around' with no reservations and it's just not fair to you to have to go through this while I'm like this. I don't want you to hurt anymore - you have been through enough. Maybe after a while, things won't seem so 'got to have you now, now, now!!!' and we'll be able to see things more clearly. I know I don't want to put my family through anymore changes so whatever happens has to be IT for everyone's sake (and sanity).

I read your letter from last night and couldn't stop staring at that happy moment in time. I wish I could simply go back to that time when all we had were each other and our baby daugther. It's just so much has happened since then - life took place between that time and now and through us for a loop! I want to be in love again, I want a wedding and yes, I too want more babies - I'm giving myself until I'm 37/38, the latest, to churn them out. I just want it to be right
and everyone to be happy and in 'can'tlive
withoutyoubysidestaywithmealwaysdon'tgonowherewhereyougoing?letsgotogetherintheshowerkitchencarbedroomfloor'
LOVE and on board with a concrete -literally- agenda.
Wouldn't that be beautiful?

Sigh

FM's Wife

Yes it would be beautiful but how can we move forward with you constanly not only looking back but going back. Not to mention you AREN'T being honest. You're still in contact with OM! You are not in the mindstate to allow full disclosure that is needed for me to heal from this ordeal. Your kids miss you too, but as each day flows into the next they become more and more accustomed to you not being here. Our daughter is especially upset with you and disappointed. Our son didn't mention you today at all, and I'm becoming more and more mentally able to deal with being alone. In fact I have been alone for much of the last 2 years eventhough you were here. Nice words, but life waits for no one. I dont even know where you're staying and this isn't the 1st time you've left. You aren't even mentioning OM so that's telling me your still in denial on how your association with him affects my love for you or our M. I will not beg for you to chose me, I am already your husband. I am already the father of your children and I'm here at our home doing what must be done. Love is not magic, Marriage does not mystically work, it takes effort, trust, responsibility, care and consideration for both parties involved.

This lady is fogged and leaving out much of what I need to hear. She is firmly in denial and trying to decieve me. I know she's looking for a place to stay, a townhome or something and I know her password is the OM's name. Gimme a break with the lying, be honest, you aren't letting go of other man and your need for space is ONLY to figure out who you'd rather be with. I will not stand by and be picked like a orange in the supermarket produce section. I'm already at home, stop going to the dang market! BLAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Here's a copy of the email I sent to my Wife it is my last email as I am entering PLAN B. It's too late to revise because its already been sent. I just wanted to share my story.

FM's Wife,
I’ve been through some very tough moments since you decided to leave, as you know. My love for you is so profound that I just couldn’t face the possibility of life without you. To a person like me, who expected to marry only once and to remain committed for life, it is a severe shock to see our relationship begin to unravel. Nevertheless, I have done some intense soul-searching, and I now realize that I have been attempting to hold you here against your will. That simply can’t be done. As I reflect on our courtship and early years together, I’m reminded that you married me of your own free choice. I did not blackmail you or twist your arm or offer you a bribe. It was a decision you made without pressure from me. Now you say you want out of the marriage, and obviously, I have to let you go. I’m aware that I can no more force you to stay today than I could have made you marry me. You are free to go. If you never call me again, then I will accept your decision. I admit that
this entire experience has been painful, but I’m going to make it. The Lord has been with me thus far and He’ll go with me in the future. You and I had some wonderful times together, FM Wife. You were my first real love and I’ll never forget the memories that we shared. I will pray for you and trust that God will guide you in the years ahead.”

I cherish the time we’ve spent together and I hope for a Future that includes us reunited as a complete family, but your ongoing relationship with your friend cannot continue within our marriage, nor any dealings with anyone even remotely connected to him. I accept you with any
flaws, any hair out of place, with bad breath, a diaper, missing teeth, and body odor that attracts flies, but I cannot accept deceit, separate lives, another man in your life, or your involvement in outside activities that you treat with more mportance than our marriage or our family.

This is my final email on this subject FM wife. I don't know what else I can say except you are in the drivers seat. I love you and I still feel that thru love and the proper steps we can have a terrific life together, but I cannot make these decisions for you. Accepting that I cannot control you actions just because I want us to be a complete family has taken time, but starting now my goal is to find peace and the necessary wisdom to deal with continuing life without you. You are free to do as you wish, and even if you choose to continue your relationship with you “Friend” and leave our marriage behind I will not regret this road we've traveled together. I have grown as a result of our UPS as well as our DOWNS we can choose to look at the obstacles in our life as either challenges or opportunities to become stronger and more connected. I also realize you don’t see your friendship with your ex as the cause for the problems in our marriage, but I do and my heart can No longer withstand feeling second in your heart due to another man. It's either him or me.

The decision is yours and whatever you decide is how it will be. When you can say to me that you are commited to this relationship our future and our family I will take you back with open arms, until then; this is good bye.

With Love,

FM

Not telling ya what to do here, JMO .

I would write out the PLAN B letter and let some here help ya with it . I am not the one LOL so I won't go there . I just throught the BAST$%& out LOL .

But seriuosly the vets here are really good at this and the OM should get a copy I think thats the way it goes .

And wow your on this WAY to early !

One more thing , please do not take this wrong , but I know our chilren need love and attention while all this is going on and they are your world .

BUT you will need to set up your world to include ADULT FUN !

Although very hard it needs to be about you as well , PLEASE do not forget yourself in this process , becasue that to can be damaging in the long run .

DO you ahve freinds with kids that will help to fit both worlds .??

Ya know that you can take them with you to kick back and chill while they play and hang out so you can have ADULT company .

Thats a start before the going out on your own every now and again .

I just read your letter. I'm no expert but I think you've done well here. You indicated that you loved her and that you can forgive her but you will not accept her having contact with OM. Your write like a pro and I'm very impressed.

I'm thinking that she will probably continue to call you and try to contact you. If you're going to be in Plan B you need to avoid that...Plan B is to protect your love for your wife. I know you share children but right now you are their primary care giver. They are very lucky to have a Daddy like you and I'm sure they know that.

I am sorry you are going through all of this but I believe your faith, love for your wife and the love you have for your children will see you through this.

Hope for Couples in Crisis

Haha your so cool 3isa

But seriously this needs to be done now. Did you read her letter? I've been going thru this for almost 2 YEARS. I only found out it was still going on in June, but her leaving this "FRIEND" out of our marriage was a condition of our reconciliation over 2 years ago. So believe me I'm at the breaking point. If I don't go to Plan B I won't be able to save enough love to BE married.

I don't have many friends who are married or have kids. I know some single ladies with kids, but I won't even go there. We can't even have a conversation that doesn't include an innuendo about dumping my WW and spending more time with them. I'll find some adults who value marriage and family and are happy with theirs until then...I'm a loner by choice.

I can't take credit for the beginning it was from a Couple's Resource website, though I did edit it for my sitch. The part with the grammatical errors, jokes and slight emotion came from me...I'd say its my words from of the middle of the page on down.

I'm thinking that she will probably continue to call you and try to contact you. If you're going to be in Plan B you need to avoid that...Plan B is to protect your love for your wife. Yes, I'm on board with you there. I do not want contact unless it's regarding the children or finances. She knows where we live, she can come back when she is ready to commit FULLY and not a second before.

I am sorry you are going through all of this but I believe your faith, love for your wife and the love you have for your children will see you through this.

Thanks for the support! I'm sorry WE'RE going thru this, but if she makes the right decision maybe we have a chance at even a better M than before. I still love my W but this has gone on way too long.

I miss her very much, but she isn't even admitting that OM is an issue in our marriage. She longs to be with this guy and that's what's holding her back from enjoying life with her family. so if she MUST be with him to be happy then that's what she MUST do at least for now. If she chooses to throw away our marriage for a relationship with this man, that is her choice and her right. I also have choices and rights, and I have a right to expect my W to not see OM and I have a right to say don't contact me until you want to adhere to being a wife who can keep her vows. I know she will go thru yet another withdrawal, but we can see another counselor, get on meds, cry together...anything. I'm willing to go thru it all with her, but not with OM in the picture.

Oh yeah, During our separation 4 years ago we made the mistake of dating. Or should I say I did, she instead got into a relationship with OM. So I have all these tempting lady friends who would love for my W to stay gone. The Washington DC Metropolitian Area is full of single women. The ration of men to woman is something like 8:1!!!
It might even be higher....but I don't want 8 women, I just want my W back and a new job

I sent my plan B letter early this morning and I thought I would feel relieved. I thought I would do this hugely satisfying exhale, instead I feel down about it . I guess while I was writing it never crossed my mind that she might welcome the letter and go skipping down the road with OM. She hasn't responded, and of course I haven't contacted her. Is it normal for me to feel in the dumps after sending the letter. I guess I was fooling myself into thinking this would make life easier.

I will stick by my guns, but I definetly need the support of your kind people to do so. This is tremendously difficult. I just never imagined that she was really that torn between me and OM. What am I saying of course she is, she left you and the kids and is probably with him right now YOU IDIOT . This is getting scary, but I know I had to do it beause I've been riding on PLAN A'esque duty too long, much too long and I felt my love starting to fade. I felt good at first about sending the letter, but as the day has worn on I've become more and more apprehensive. I guess reality is setting in and I'm realizing that there's a strong possiblity that she will chose OM. I wish I could send him a copy of this letter as well, but I don't know his email address. Come on FM snap out of it, I like it when your witty and creative save this gloominess for funeral processions and when the Sopranos get cancelled.

SMACK _SMACK,,SLAP SLAP ... Feel better , support you got it DUDE! (sorry alittle to much FULL HOUSE TV ) LOL

OK I am not the wise and wonderful of the baord , but its a start . I go with the humor and the pain I know it as well .

Listen just like an outburst your human to feel sad by a desion that HAD to be made .

And no suger coating she may not call , but she is not happy skippin away with OM either...

How do I know ? well she is human as well , I know the aileens are there but so is she .

You know , I know and everyone reading knows it was the right move .

And yes it is a tough one as well , no one will say any of the is easy .I know you may have thought it would bring releif , and it will you know that word TIME ! Well with each day it will happen .

There will be good ones and bad ones ,,, BUT it is better then having a cake eating , fence sitter right next to you not knowing when and what they will say or do next .

When they will call, or come home from work and most of all waiting to bait you into an arguement so they can feel better about there guilt .

OK I am rambling .

Others with the words of wisdom will come along , hang on , and rember she has a choice she can come home ,, you can't force anyone to do anything they are not ready for and most of all you do not want her back UNTIL SHE IS COMMITED TO MAKING THIS WORK !

Go play some videos! if not get a punching bag and go reless some energy !

Thanks for the response. Yes, TIME is the key. I need to stay busy so I don't sit around watching the clock counting minutes.

I was just lurking and I ran across a thread where someone was asking the recommended length of Plan B:

2 YEARS!!

I hate sounding like a complete WIMP but right now it's only been 2 days. I cannot imagine doing this for 6 months, let alone 2 YEARS!

2 YEARS of being alone, ALL ALONE! I should have went into PLAN B a year ago when my W was hardly home and living here...that should count towards my TIME QUOTA

Somebody point out a man on this website who's been celibate for 2 YEARS while their WIFE sees OM?????

unfreakin-believable!
