This is my first post. I've been married for 13 years and found out 2 months ago my husband has been having an affair for a year. The affair stopped the day I found out.
To make a long story short, after counseling we found out he has sexual compulsion and suffers from the madonna whore complex. Does anyone out there know anything about this?
I don't know if anyone is really reading this but I feel so lost right now. We married young and I'm now 30 and our daughter is 12. He is my one true love and I can't believe someone you give your heart to could hurt you this much.
I don't know how I'm going to deal with this. What do I do???? I haven't shared this with my family and only 1 friend. This is eating me up inside. He's trying everything to make things right but I'm so hurt and scared that it could happen again. I feel so alone because he is my best friend and now I can't trust him. Part of me is dead and I don't know how to forgive and move on.

SPG,
Welcome to MB. Sorry you have t/b here but there is a lot of support and tools you can use to help you then your H restore your M.
1st, I'd like to encourage both of you t/do the following:
1. Read the concept section above.
2. Read His Needs/Her Needs and Surviving an Affair. Both are by Dr W. Harley.
3. Get with a good MC or better yet, call Steve Harley for a phone appt. He is great on working the WS H's.
Good to hear your M has both of you working on it. The road to recovery is long and hard but well worth the effort.
Seems like your stage is past the other junk most BS have to deal with. Right now your needs are coming into play but we can't see where your H stands right now.
Get w/some good counseling and both need t/b aware that marital recovery will take efforts from both of you.
U have a lot of reading t/do.
Let us know how you are doing.
take care, L.
