Here's the thought... how about we join our heads/hearts/souls whatever at a certain point in time..
I know it works. The very idea of others that understand what you're going through actually thinking of you, even when they're on the other side of the world... it's empowering.
This is my suggestion. At 22.00 GMT or 05.00 GMT those who want to join in. For 5 minutes we'll join forces. Pray, smile, chant, tell a good joke, whatever, make some positive vibes. If you're not in the mood to be positive then you can simply tune in and try to relax a bit.
GMT is the time in England, Scotland and Ireland, also known as Zulu-time. So if we want to join forces here everyone has to re-calculate their timezones to coincide with Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). For New York, for example, you need to add 6 hours to your local time to reach GMT. So that will make 16.00 and/or 23.00 for you. In L.A. you need to 9 hours, so for you the "joining time" will be 14.00 or 21.00. I hope this is not too complicated! You can find information about this in the telephone book.
You don't have to go somewhere special or do anything special, only if you want to. You can be sitting next to your spouse watching tv or maybe you'll be lying awake in your bed. Or driving your car.
So once more - what to do if you want to join in? At 22.00 GMT and/or 05.00 GMT think of the others on MB etc. and send some positive vibes the best way you know how (a relaxed way is always better). Or simply be glad because of all those others thinking of you and wishing you well.
So it's all just in the mind but you can bump this post or another related to it around that time if you wish, of course.
Anyone else thinks this is a good idea?

Hi Brownhair,
2200Z is 0230L in the moring (2 Sep 04)... I think I'll try the 0500Z (0930L) time tomorrow
I have to wear two watches over here to keep up with the Zulu time... everything here runs on Zulu time and it drives me nuts!

Sounds like a real good idea! (I'll be at work, though. ARGH!) I try very hard to give hope and prayers and laughter to everyone that needs it. I really need (very tough for me to admit) some prayers and support myself, though, these days. It's been a very tough few days--with it, as I see it, only going to get worse. Really don't want sympathy--want to smile again!!!!!

OK, 90--now I'm really confused! So, the east coast (EST) is 4:00 *pm*, right?!?!? [ September 01, 2004, 11:19 AM: Message edited by: LINY ]

Great idea. There are people here from Indonesia, the States, Japan, Africa, Italy, Afghanistan, England, Australia, Russia, and New Zealand, and Canada, Iraq, and Kuwait, and Holland, and Belgium.
So we have lots of coverage.
Hope I didn't leave out any countries.

Great to have you all here! I can hear you re-calculating the time zones It's easy for me, I'm one hour away from Zulu or GMT so 22:00 is 23:00 for me! So I'll join you in thoughts in 1,5 hour from now...

I would love to join you all, but have absolutely no idea what time it would be for me. I live in EST zone, (north eastern U.S.).
I am so easily confused

I found a few good charts on the Internet. http://www.epm.com/timezone.htmhttp://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc(convert Europe/London time to your timezone). That should help you! I seem to be getting a sort of reaction to all the sleepless nights now, meaning that I could sleep anytime now . So if I'm still awake at 22.00 GMT I'll bump this post! Glad you want to join us dear! From what I can find US Eastern time has a 5 hour time difference from GMT, so 22.00 GMT actually is 17:00 for you ! And 04:00 GMT is 23:00 for you.

I'd really appreciate anyone giving their ideas/prayers/remarks here. I wouldn't want to be bumping this post when no-one has any help from it!
I'm sure a few people have been joining in these last days - thank you!! It felt good to be together!
