He is on his way here.
For three days he has been saying he was coming to see D.
Kept saying he would be here at such and such a time etc.
Never showed up , didn't call the first day.
Yesterday he got here two hours late and we were gone.
Today he said 'late afternoon' he would try to mnake it out here.
He just called to say he is on his way. He hung up before I could tell him not to bother.
It is 9pm and she is in bed.
He is too late.
It is too late.
I don't want to get into it with him, but enough is enough.
She has been hurt enough by his neglect.
I have to calm down. I promised D that I wouldn't get into a fight with him.

Be strong Shul. Don't let his neglectful actions or words cause you to lose your cool. That'll probably twist around in his mind that you are so cool-headed and in control.....LS

Yes, I will be serene.
Actually, he is not here yet, so maybe this is just some new form of torture he has invented.
But what did his little girl ever do to him to deserve this ????
He is on very thin ice.

I'm tossing a couple hugs your way. One for you for strength and one for your daughter. I see the result of this everyday with one of my daughters friends. Sometimes it takes all my strength to avoid "discussing" certain things with her father. You know what, though. That little girl has the smile of an angel and the heart of a saint. I attribute that to her mother. A strong, caring woman who never fails to show love and support.
I know this is hard for almost all of us on MB, but every night when I kiss my daughters forehead, I let her know that she'll always be by little butterfly. Most of my strength comes from her smile......
Stay strong and maybe he'll see the thin ice under his feet when he arrives <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Shul, i'm on a Dr Phil kick lately and his wife Robin was speaking yesterday about how her family made her feel. This may not help with *your* feelings about what your H is doing, but might help your daughter.
Robin said that her father never said, "I love you." What he said instead was, "You are loved." Okay, this seems like a really small difference...but something just clicked inside of me when she said that. I thought, "Yes! That's it!" I'm not sure why that phrase spoke to me.
Try this with your daughter (not sure how old she is?) Just tell her, "You are loved." and give her a big hug. If she starts asking about how your H shows her love, just reaffirm what you said with a , "You are loved." Maybe it would help her, maybe it wouldn't. But I know that if my mom or dad had said that to me when I was a little girl, I don't think I ever would've doubted those words!
