I know there is a thread with song lyrics (which I believe this is on the list) and I know there is a thread FWS already, but, just wanted to remind us FWS. "The Reason", by Hoobastank.

I’m not a perfect person
There are many things I wish I didn’t do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go,

that I just want you to know

I’ve found a reason for me,
to change who I used to be
A reason to start over new,
and the reason is you

I’m sorry that I hurt you,
it’s something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through,
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears,

that’s why I need you to hear

I found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new

And the reason is you

I’m not a perfect person,
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go

that I just want you to know

I’ve found a reason for me,
to change who I used to be
A reason to start over new,
and the reason is you

I’ve found a reason to show
a side of me you didn’t know
A reason for all that I do

And the reason is you.

I was already deep in my struggle when that
song came out. I cried my guts out when I heard it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />

Liny, thanks for the lyrics, didn't hear of this song, until now, Robby thanks for the link.

I sent the words to H. Not as good as never hurting him, but I think he will like it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Thanks.

It's funny that u bring that song up. My WW looked at that song completely different. The weekend before I found out we went camping. She would sing along to that song as if she was thinking about something else. The parts about hurting you were to me, but when she sang along to this part

"I’ve found a reason for me,
to change who I used to be
A reason to start over new,
and the reason is you"

I think she was thinking of OM. Like she was singing that to him. Like, he was a reason to change her life, sorry I have to go (leave me) etc. I don't know if that is how the song is meant to be interpreted, but I know that is how she made it apply to her. So I hated this song for a while and would change it when it would come on the radio. I still don't like to listen to it. It still makes me a little sick. That accidentally in love song by Counting Crows does too.

Juke, that just sucks. No other way of putting it. I know I am FW myself, but what some FW's do--to you, Tom (first two that come to mind)--just down right mean, nasty, etc.--I will never understand. I get the whole "fog" thing (I like to refer to it as my former mirage--yes, intentional play on words), like so many WS are going through, but she was (is?) unhuman--not inhumane. I am so sorry for your pain--obvious as it is. For what it is worth, situations such as yours help me tremendously--I never ever want to be where your W is now. For that, a sincere thanks for you posting your trials with this person.

TTs--ironically, it was my wife who fitrst played the song for me . I am a really blessed man.

kloe--I'm hoping from the perspective of a *former* WS; not from juke's. (Again, sorry for your pain, man.)

ky, ktulu, robby, suzet: "You're welcome!" Let's just make sure we never go there again, alright?!?!?

Yes LINY, it royally sucks! When I was going thru my worst pain in the beginning, they played that song on the radio ALL THE TIME! (at work I listen to the radio all day)! It drove me nuts because I would get a sinking feeling everytime I heard it. That song will forever haunt me when I hear it. It puts me into a flashback of the weekend right before I found out. Still can't believe that my suspicions were true. My WW isn't being cruel at all anymore besides the fact that she is still with him. When I read Tom's posts I can relate to what he is dealing with.

I can relate, Juke. My wife played the Dido song White Flag right after I found out about the EA. The OM backed off right away after exposure, and I believe she was thinking of him whenever the song played. She even wrote down the words. I turn it off as well.

Juke: (gonna threadjack myself <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> ):
I don't remember reading...whatever happened with the whole house situation? That was the last I remember reading. From your words, is she coming around finally? I know you had said there were signs, but then she'd go right back to doing the things to hurt you more.

Great song..alot of emotion!

HMM
My W shared most of her loves for music with OM <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />
It still hurts big time. They both sang for a local entertainment company and traveled together. Her past actions zap the fun out of our ability to share certain things. Eventhough she's back in the M with me now she still hasn't hit that bottom. You know that bottom where she TRULY REALIZES how much pain she's caused me? Anway...I'm a bit weary of that moment, but I know it's going to come.

Hats off to you LINY, nothing sings to the soul like MUSIC!

FM!!! Likewise, my friend. You have shown that all of your qualities + the principles that you used--WORK!

Baby steps--if you get a huge step thrown in there--Bonus! But, baby steps. It's just so great to hear that she's there. In mind. It'll take time for her to realize that. Think of how long it took you. (Certainly not meant as a put-down--just to give some perspective, as it will take time.)

We miss you over here in GQII!!!!

Hey, don't know if you caught the post to where someone (sorry--can't remember who) said that you were the Tony Robbins of MB!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
How true! You have given us *all* an inspiration--more than any song could do.

Great to hear from you!

LINY- She almost came home a couple weeks ago. She was seriously considering it. She said OM is a big [censored], she misses me etc. We had a long talk about it. But then she decided to let the house buy out go thru etc. The house is mine now. She said that she still isn't sure what she wants to do. I think it is BS that I keep pouring my heart out to her and it is HER big decision to come home. How lucky she is to even have a choice at all. After all the cruelty she put me thru? I don't know what I want anymore. I went thru a lot of pain again when she talked of coming home and don't want more. It almost seems like I am better off with her out of my life, but then again I would probably fold like mush if she came knocking on my door LOL.
