I don't have a kitchen of my own yet....won't move into the house until next week. Then gotta unload that big container. YIKES!!!!
Baking? Please refresh this humidity logged mind. LOL!!!
I know I talked about letting her H stew] and may have made other cooking references (I don't think I've used the boiling in oil one for a while - ), then I asked fishracer if he found his alien animal yet..... but can't recall anything about apple pies. Those are my mom's specialities. I am more of a rum cake, dobash or pineapple upside down kinda cake baking (not walking, I just bake them suckers), kinda girl. LOL!!!
Now I know I owe Knewjie, Indy and Topie25 some cookies....gonna do that when they get their winter over there but apple pie? Hm..... u sure u didn't get me mixed up with Nikko? She's our MB culinary chef
Oh well, put the fork and plate away for a while. Go to Marie Callendars and I will look for my recipes. You realize over here, we don't have much in the way of apples. But I do a great German Apple Cake..... can be frozen and shipped.
Man, this sounds more like a cooking w/friends post then an MB one. I'd better get back to work. MB style.
take care, L. [ September 09, 2004, 03:18 PM: Message edited by: Orchid ]

I am in such a grumpy mood today...boy did I need that!!!!!! Thanks!!
Now, do I haveta get my can of whoop---er, apple pie filling out???
Actually, it was before the move (??) and you had been baking--now you got me thinking though...was it really baking, or figuratively?
Regardless, I invited myself to an apple pie (which I may be mistaken now. ) Come to think of it, you never did actually say yes.
Errrr...if I only knew what thread it was on!
So...now we have...family matters as Tony Robbins...nikko as Julia Childs...would you like to be... BAM!
Oh well...guess I'll have to wait another month, head upstate, and pick my own!

Now what's this about apple pie. I never got apple pie, where's my apple pie!
I still owe you and email L but I've been slackin.
Hubby and I have talked about a trip to see you. Did you win the lotto yet so we can make a weekend jaunt over there? But seriously, we plan on a trip for our 10 year. It's either 2 or 3 years away. I can't remember!
Love ya! K

nikko...absolutely no disrespect meant! But, I do see your dillema: a b@#$% or a deceased, beloved chef?

Liny, Oooh.... I do recall mentioning about a cherry apple pie crisp recipe I make from the pampered chef recipe book. Was it that one?!??!?!?
Well, I am no super chef but I do love Emeril, Yan Can & Sam Choy. I hear Jackie Chan has a restaurant here in the Ala Moana Shopping Center..... gotta go visit him.... love his movies and cartoon. LOL!!!
Gotta scoot to bed. It's late even by Hawaiian time.
Knewjie, U R coming? Great? We got room. [H] can sleep in son's room and you can have the futon couch so we can stay up late and chat. LOL!!!
Nikko, howa' been girlfriend? Any new recipes? I wouldn't call you M Stewart and I am not hip on Julia Child, though I did like her humor. But you sound more fun like that french chef? Jacque .....? JK.
Bob, can you explain: [Homer] mmmmmm ...pie [/Homer] ????? g'nite, L.

Nope...definitely apples...you had mentioned that there were just so many of them and you had to do something with them. What better way to do "something with them" then to feed LINY?!?!?
Oh, and the "Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...pie?" The Simpsons.

Liny,
If it was my comments about a lot of apples, that c/b an old post. Maybe from last year? I have friends with large apple trees and would periodically get a few grocery bags of apples left on my porch. Then I'd make the German apple cake.
That's all I can think of, unless U have me mixed up with 'another Orchid'. LOL!!!
Now that German Apple cake c/b frozen and mailed, so whatta' think? Oops? Gotta rethink about that offer...... I have moved to Hawaii and the apple trees are in CA..... Yikes..... U maybe closer to them trees than me!
U want the recipe? LOL!!!
L.

I think that would be a wonderful housewarming gift from you!!!! I will now have my own (brown's not allowed to use it!) walk in pantry! It's the little things in life. Plenty of room to store bags of apples for when I get that recipe!
(Ugh...the cleaning of it all though! Gotta stay optimistic, though. Although every day I find something else wrong with the dang house! )
