I know this is hard, but you do have the strength to get through this. When my WH moved out 4 months ago I didn't think I would make it, but I have. Everything your H is telling you is pure fog talk, don't pay any attention to him. Now is the time to focus on you. Going back to school and traveling sound like good plans. Focus on the person you want to be and take steps to get there. For me this meant going back to church and being there for my family and friends. I don't know how my situation will turn out. When WH first moved out I believe he was 100% convinced that we would be getting a D, now I don't think he is so sure. Time will tell what happens, just use this time for you.

The first few weeks are the hardest, keep busy. Get out a calender and start scheduling things. Do not sit around the house, it is too easy to wallow in self pity and spiral into a deep depression. Reach out to your family and friends, they will be there for you.

Sounds like he is really fogged out. I think I would get on with my life without him. Then if he decides to make some effort saving the marriage later, he can join you.

I would Plan B him as soon as you move in with your parents. Also I would go back to school, and not worry about getting an apartment. Forget about his "conditions".

You will do just fine. It is scarey at first, but you will make it and have a great life, with or without him.
