How does one save an entire thread? (Besides cutting and pasting?) And, is it possible to go way back in time and dig up old threads (past the 11 pages that are going now?

Liny, you can save an entire thread in your browser's bookmarks.

To find an old thread, if you posted on the thread, just click on the sunglass symbol on your posts and then select, "view posts." That should pull up all your old threads. Or you can use the search function and type in your member #.

i don't know how to save an entire topic without going to each page and cutting and pasting. i'll have to watch this topic to see if that is possible.

as for finding older topics, have you tried using the "search" functionality. click on the word "search" near the top of the page, for me it is under the post a poll button. i know different broswers can display things differently but it should be up there somewhere for you.

a quicker way to get to your most recent posts (or any poster for that matter) is to click on the number of posts listed at the end of someone's entry. Looks like, "Posts: 370" (that is your current count)

To go back farther, you can use the search function and do a search on your screen name or member #.

Regarding saving a thread...

Sometimes a web page will have all the "support links" for wont of a better term tied to the main page. This one does not. So you can only save one page of a thread at a time.

There is an easy way to do this, however.

If you are on the main screen with the topics, you will see them all listed. If the topic has more than one page, there will be a little, underlined 2 then 3 ... for each subsequent page with the actual title being page one. Here is how I save it.

I right click the Title and pick "Save Target As..." and it will give me the opportunity to type in a file name and pick a directory to save it to.

After I type in the file name, I highlight it and press Ctrl-C to copy it. Then I save (page one).

Next your right click the little underlined 2 for page 2 and pick "Save Target As..."

If you have copied the file name with Ctrl-C you can then Ctrl-V and paste it again in the file name box and type in a 2 for page 2.

Keep doing this for pages 3, 4, 5, 6 and on up and you will have each page saved as a separate file.

As far as saving the entire thread with one operation, it has to do with how the links are stored. I tried opening a multi-page thread and doing a "File>Save As>Web Page (complete)" which usually works. It did not in this case. Good question for a moderator.
