I recall Penny T. making some mention of the Dalai Lama's writings at SYMC. Now I can't find the post, and I can't get the search function to work on my 'puter. Can anybody point me to it?

Thanks - GC

I think it was something about happiness, but that pretty much covers everything he's written.

I was thinking of something that didn't just have a compilation of speeches and essays, but a book that IIRC discusses specific things about how to cultivate a life of peace and happiness.

Maybe it was How to Practice, but mostly I'm looking for a good recommendation. I spent lots of time reading all the "affair books" I could find, but when the things I was reading became redundant I though I'd try something less analytical that might be good for both me and my WW. Though I don't necessarily intend for her to read it...

GC,
There are two books that might fit the bill of what you are looking for, both by the Dalai Lama. One is 'The Art of Happiness: a handbook for living', the other 'The Art of Living: A guide to contentment, joy and fulfillment'.

I am reading the Art of Happiness and it has a lot of insights on how people view situations and how it influences their happines and thus all whom they are in relationships with.

Hope this helps! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

The book I've been reccomending is "Ethics for the New Millenium." It is specifically focused on a broad definition of ethics and how to live within that definition.

Victoria - don't suppose that's any relation to Janet or Stewart? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

You might also try a couple of other titles along the same lines:

Anger, Wisdom for Cooling the Flames (Thich Nhat Hanh)
The Power of Now (Ekhart Tolle)

Dare I also plug Spacecase's site www.iloveulove.com ? Particularly the resources link, with emphasis on the Spiri2ality sublink there.

SC has really assembled a wide variety of materials from all kinds of sources. I think the Dalai Lama is in there somewhere, but I'm on a 9600 baud link right now, so I can't stay long! (certainly not 2long!).
