Great news!

I just got a full pork loin on sale at the grocery store - 9 pounds for $1.99/pound. Normally $4.59/pound. Cut it up into six pieces and froze it. Great on the grill using Wilo Willie's #1 rub, slow cook over three hours to 155 degrees by a meat thermometer. Yummy! (leftovers make great sandwiches).

Eat, drink, wash, fold,

Speaking of bachelors, my 12 girlfriends and I rented an old victorian house on the lake this weekend so I left my H to fend for himself.

Guess what he had for his dinner on Saturday?? POTATO WEDGES!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

When I asked if that was all he had, he added that he also had a banana split! sigh.....

Next time, send him over here and we'll have a REAL bachelor feast.

You see, doncha, that real bachelors have the luxury to take the TIME to cook right! Leave us on our decks with our grills without disruption for an afternoon with maybe just our fav music, game on the radio, and a cooler with our fav beverage - and we can do wonders for the pallette! And low carbs!

Melody, BK!

That's a staple of my STBX's dinner fare. That and Pizza Hut. Whenever I need a homecooked meal I eat at the firehouse.

Now you see we just don't have big enough refrigerators & freezers in the UK to take advantage of that deal ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Sounds good tho' !

I prepared a post-Karate meal for FWW tonight - salmon fillets marinaded in tarragon , White Wine and olive oil, and oven baked in foil for a half hour 'til tender. Served up with cauliflower cheese and 'taters. mmmm.

Nicer to do NOW that FWW is not meaner than a rattlesnake ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

That pork sounds more like a man's meal though Woof !

Hmmmm, I don't know if my "carnivore special" grill will accept tofu or eggplant. I HAVE included veggies like onions, peppers, etc. on kabobs - as long as some kinda carnivorous ingredient is included, I guess it's happy.

Isn't "tofu" Japanese for "whale snot"?

Gosh, you guys are getting me hungry and I haven't even had my cup of coffee yet. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

I'm gonna be bashful and admit that I'm a gourmet cook. I love cooking; it relaxes me and takes my mind of things. I find it very therapeutic and it's even more fun when there are a whole lotta people waiting to try the stuff.

I'm with you, Kati. I LOVE cooking.

WAT - Take the leftover loin and shred it. You can freeze it for sammiches later or slap some sauce on it right then and there - DON'T FORGET the onions and pickles. Can't have good 'que without.

I have a kick [censored] recipe for buns. I make my own hamburger/hot dog buns...really easy, and I'll share if you want it.

You have a bread machine? If you do it makes it easier, but if you don't - hey we all can use the arm workout right? Let me know one way or the other, tho, because there are slight variations.

No, I don't have a bread machine, but I'm pretty good at kneading. I bake bread all the time and I have nice biceps to show for.

WAT- Try the pork loin sometime by coating the top with mustard, (not dry, just regular spreadable mustard) and then top it with a generous layer of cracked coriander seeds and cracked pepper. Bake in oven. Just wonderful stuff.

Ladies, I'm up for the buns recipe. Machine or w/o, it sounds wonderful.

Fine WAT, then how about grilled portabella?

Shrooms gotta be a cave man kind of thing, you know fungus and spores and all that.

starz - suppose I want to grill which requires turning the meat periodically - would I use the mustard, pepper, and seeds on ALL sides?

weaver - portabella are probably "legal." Very hunter-gatherer. I have used shrooms on kabobs as well.

Thanks,
WAT

WAT, Speaking of food, when do you want to get together for lunch? And hey, how about making it a picnic with some of that shredded pork and the homemade buns? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Pepp, you are very good when you're bad. More the deponent sayeth not. (Because otherwise she'll say something that would be highly inappropriate, you know. And probably hilarious, but we'll have to live without.)

I personally plan to never admit that I know how to cook ever again, and just see what happens. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
