FOUND IT! FIGURED IT OUT!
Was gonna get an oriental/Japanese symbol for chrysalis above my butterfly, but thought long and hard about that. Since I respect the culture, but am in every way Occidental, I decided to have the Gaelic word for either butterfly or chrysalis tattooed on. Being 1/2 Scottish and 1/2 Irish makes ever so much more sense, don't you think? Well, after some research (b/c a tattoo MUST NEVER BE DONE off the cuff, imo), I found the PERFECT thing:
dealan-de
it has double meaning of butterfly or God's fire.
LOVE IT!

Super duper cool.
I haven't figured mine out yet.
But at least I have an idea for my Halloween costume.
I told you the other day what had been on my turntable for a while now...
I think I might be Ike Turner. I'm white, but I can still pull it off. If anybody's confused, they'll figure it out when the band launches into our big cover tune, which I think is going to be "Nutbush City Limits".
If that doesn't fly, something else. But I'm always a music person. Last year I was Jack White.
By the way Kimmy, vinyl sounds better and records are CHEAP. And listening to punk on CD is not punk.

Tattoo - wasn't he Herve Veleches' (sp?) character on Fantasy Island?
So instead of "dealan-de" shouldn't it be "de plane!"?

WAT - HAR-DE-HAR-HAR. I couldn't even think of a smart assed thing to say to that. Congratulations! You're the first in a long time to have earned that dubious honor. (I did giggle and almost squirt pop outta my nose, tho)

quote:
I'm white, but I can still pull it off.

Sweetie, having seen your photo, you're so white, if you didn't go get some sun, you'd glow in the dark. That was said all the love in my widdle heart, so if'n you do pull it off, you are SO gonna have to post photos just so I'll believe you.
My best, most favoritest thing to have gone as...and this was a LONG time ago. A cereal killer. I dressed in my best little black dress, had the most awesome makeup and hair do, high heeled pumps and stockings with the nice line down the back. In other words, tres chic! Nails done, lipstick, perfect. Bought a box of Frosted Flakes. Put one of my best, most impressive kitchen knives thru Tony's head and painted "blood" dripping down the box. Won 2nd prize at the party. I still content that the winner gave the judge face before the contest...or maybe after(they were a couple)......who cares!? My costume rocked!
Being a "table dancer" was fun, too. I love "punny" costumes. That one was hard to navigate 6th Street in, tho. My table kept bumping in to people.
I refer you to my "fun stuff" post so you know what I'm going as this year.
Listening to punk in any form these days is preferable to most other forms of music, imo. I will tell you "Institutionalized" is best heard zooming down the highway with the windows rolled down and the volume up as much as your speakers can handle. Kinda hard to do with vinyl, capice?

OK, you caused me to remember old Halloween get-ups.
Years ago when I shared a house with some other bachelors, we used to throw a really kickin' Halloween party. You couldn't get in without a costume. One year my parents wanted to come. I replied that as long as they had costumes, they were welcome. (I really didn't expect they would show.)
Anyway, they did show up - with another couple. They each wore a bed sheet with only their faces showing - which they had covered with some brownish face paint. My Dad (only one of the four) also had a couple short sections of nylon stockings (stuffed with something) hanging out from under the sheet material on the side of his face.
No one had any idea what their costumes were supposed to be - and they wouldn't say.
BUT - they milled around the beer keg and out-of-character acted like jerks. Obnoxious, loud, rude, etc.
Finally, I asked my Dad what was going on? I was getting a bit embarassed. His reply - "we're just playing the role - we're [censored]!"
And the stockings, Dad?
"Hemroids."

I have Chinese symbols tatooed on the top of my foot...
All of DD's friends were getting symbols that meant resilient, laughter, etc. on their right foot.
I got mine on my left foot. My DS does tatoos. Everyone asked what mine means. "It's very deep" I say. "It means Left Foot".
I love it. K72172

NG, Sure you can watch, the tattoo I mean. Can I get a foot rub to divert my attentions while I'm getting inked? Haven't had a good foot massage in years.
I like St. Florian. I carry his medal in my helmet. Just in Case. lol
More than Likely going the route of the Maltese Cross. Ancient symbol for the Knights of Malta and national symbol of the Fire Service.
And speaking of painful... the worse pain I've ever felt had nothing to do with physical trauma.

Okay Sleepless. You are talking the big V to a woman who's smallest baby was 7.11 lbs au natural AND bfed (breast fed) AT LEAST 7 months for each of her 3....do not speak of such pain. Your sniparoonie is nothing compared to passing an 8.14 lb watermelon! So sorry, buddy boy, I'm LMAO at the justice in that one!

quote:
mine's the boar!

Oh geez. Think we can find something MUCH nicer than that for you.

Thank you. I always think it's an honor when someone allows you to view something so personal...it's also uber cool to watch.

I wonder if it ever fades?
Going to the beach now....who can stay at home and work on things domestic when the waves are calling, the dolphish are surfacing, and the adolescent pelicans are just loosing their fuzzy baby feathers?
Will promise to bake a cake later, okay?

Personal experience...
DO NOT go to a 'learning hospital' for th'ol sniparoo.
There's the potential of it making childbirth and tattoos look like a cake walk...
As for the tattoo... well, ya it hurts. How much it hurts is very dependant on the area you have it done and the artist who does the work. In the end though, the pain is only temporary but the tattoo lasts forever.
I'm thinking of a new one too. Not sure what it's going to be, but I'm way overdue. My last one was a 13" dragon crawling up my stomach. That one HURT!!!
We need a new picture pages for MB tattoos...

I was gonna get a tattoo of a broken heart on my shoulder. Its a design that can be 'repaired' .
mentioned to my FWW today and she was upset. Said her entire life would always be a reminder of her "stupidity, regret and guilt", and a tattoo wouldn;t help her.
I agree. No tattoo.
