Don’t Quit!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must--but don't you quit.

Life is queer with it's twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow--
You might succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
it seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt--
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

It's exactly these sort of things that keep me going. Thanks for posting it for everyone. I saw it on RWS's thread too. It's the kick I needed today.

Wow! I just got off the phone with my WH and he is driving me crazy today and I was just about ready to tell him to just get out and be with OW if she's so damn important to him that he can throw away his wife and kids. I thought I'd send her an email letting her know she could have him because I'm done with his sorry butt.

Then, I come here and this is the top thread.

I am glad I posted this then and that it helped you cope. It is funny how every action brings a reaction, rather it be bad or good. One day at a time for us all.

quitting......nice......but isn't there a time to say "enough is enough" Just to keep your "dignity?" but again, very nice uplifting poems.. having faith is good.. and make sure you get your love #1 and that is love from god....
