The quote in Weaver's signature hit me hard as being very appropriate to most of our situations.

I started working on a song (since I'm a singer-songwriter type) that is based on that poem and the general theme of it.

Here's the quote:
"I have woven a parachute out of everything broken"
--William Stafford

and my song, so far...don't steal it! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

"I picked up all the broken pieces
Of pictures I threw on the floor
I swept up shreds of old love letters
I tore and threw into the fire
And clothes I ripped and left for dying
I pulled them all down off the line
I sewed and glued them all together
Into a parachute
And now I've got to climb

Into the atmosphere
And jump into the void
And hope that I drift slowly down
Into the atmosphere
And come out of the void
And hope I that I don't hit the ground
Too hard..."

If I finish and record it, I'll post the MP3 here. In fact, I did write another song called "West Union" (based on the name of the neighborhood where I lived right after D-Day) that is pretty appropriate, I'll post a link to it here soon.
