Please share your ideas....

What are your kids "going as"?

What are you "going as"?

What was your best costume ever?

I may go as Leelou from 5th element (bandage costume) or Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. I kind of like the Sally idea.

Best costume ever? I think probably a Robert Palmer girl (from the 80's videos). That was last year.

I really don't like Halloween. Never really did. BUT, last year, I ran with my oldest D's idea to be a sign.

So, I made her into a stop sign! Cut out two signs, painted them red, hung them together, adn painted my D's face red. Wallah! Stop sign!

Hehe...chuckling just thinking about it...Then, on a smaller level, cut out two diamonds, strung 'em togther, painted them yellow...and, my youngest D (2 at the time) was a "STOP AHEAD" sign!

No clue for this year!

Ahhhh...LINY: the domestic "Mr. Mom!"

My wh would never dress up for Halloween until the year I came up with the idea for us to go as Al and Peggy Bundy for a party at his boss' house. The only thing he had to do was put on a sweat-stained undershirt with brown pants and spend the rest of the evening drinking a beer and telling stories from his glory days as a high school football star. I wore a big haired red wig, 5lbs of makeup, skintight capris and stillettos. I would only recommend wearing that to a party where you know most of the people there. I was meeting everyone for the first time and they weren't sure if I was in costume or just had incredibly bad taste.

Maddy, my friend was Sally last year and I can email you some photos if you'd like. It was cool.

I was Jack White, from the White Stripes. This year I'm going to be Ike Turner, and my friend who was Sally last year, and is the singer in my band, is going as Tina. Ike and Tina from like 1967.

Well, Halloween is not MY favorite holiday. HOWEVER, it is H's. And he has had some DOOSEY comstumes. MY favorite of his, was one year when I helped him design his "Headless Horseman" costume. It looked SOOOOOO cool. He wore all black, up over his head, with a cape to cameflauge the extremely thick, long neck. Then, we carved a Spectacular pumpkin, with a hauntingly real face, for his "head" that he carried around all night. Very inexpensive, and very cool.

I don't have a favorite, but I have a WORST. I was about 9, and my mother decided to marry her 4th husband on All Hallow's Eve. Ugh. So, my youngest aunt came and stayed with me. Well, she didn't know the city very well, and I didn't know how to pee in the bushes very well - needless to say, my gypsy costume was wet all night, and The Incredible Hulk chased us as she drove down a major road the wrong way. Very memorable.

Happy Halloween!

What was your best costume ever?

Well...I think this probably was when I was a kid. My mom made me a beautiful mermaid costume- tail and all!

THis year I let my kids buy scary costumes for the first time. DS8 is going as a something or other with a bleeding mask DS6 is going as a grim reeper and DS4 is going as Robin from that cartoon...oh what the heck is it called...cant remember.

I go as myself every year and seem to scare plenty of people that way...and DH goes as himself as well and scares even MORE people!

WE just put our decorations up today. Now the yard looks like a graveyard!

In college one year I went as a stick of gum made out of poster board and my friend went as a piece of chewed gum, complete with a shoe on her head because someone stepped in her!

I think I got this idea from someone on MB....

I've got a "Cheerios" t-shirt. I bought some "bullet holes" to stick on the shirt.

I am of course....

..a cereal killer.

Well, our 15-year-old daughter made a decision...

Her Halloween costume is a Pan Am Stewardess uniform. Complete with a blue derby-style riding hat, the very short skirt and tailored jacket, white gloves, the gold wings pinned on the jacket, and the official Pan Am crew flight bag over her shoulder.

She wore the outfit to school today. So cute.

I am actually honoring all the firefighters (including my WH who was a volunteer) who risked their lives in the big San Diego Fire Storm last year at this time by dressing up as a sexy firefighter....it is a riot, little black boy shorts, a fitted red jacket with a low zipper line and LAFD emblem on back, black combat type boots, and a Fire Chief helmet.

My WH lit a fire he doesn't seem to want to control so I am going to see if someone else wants to help (hehehe). The divorce process began yesterday much to my discontent and despite the fact there is still love between us and that his unhappiness is all about him, not about us. Doesn't make sense but now I am in Plan B to the end. I always have believed that things happen for a reason. If we are not truly meant to be, there are bigger and better things waiting for me.

-K

Me: 28 yo FW
Him: 30 yo WH
Married: 3.5 years, together 5 years
His Affair: 4 months last fall, ended 1/04; dropped bomb and left me 5/22/04, been separated ever since; he admits to a fling with a girl 5-6 years younger than him, does not love her, seems to be merely for sex. He always made love to me. Regardless, divorce proceedings began yesterday much to my discontent. After 5 months in plan A...I am off to plan b.
