KnewBetter,
Kind of disappeared after my last burst of posting and I feel as if I left you hanging. Don't know why what you wrote in that thread bothered me so, it just did. I was a little too harsh back to you and apologize for that. It is not really in my nature to be that way. So I am sorry.
FinallyLearning,
RAP has been wanting to e-mail you, but our computer lost its motherboard and has been down for about a week. That is here e-mail access point and she doesn't have another.
------------
All - prayers please. To top all this off, my company had a large lay-off and now I am unemployed. Anyone need a good engineer?
NCWalker (and hugs to all from RAP).

Hey how come I wasn't in the topic line? Didn't I tick you off too???
No just kidding. Just wanted to say that I for one (and a few other people have posted asking where you guys were and how you were doing) & am so glad you posted this update. Have been wondering about you both.
I am so incredibly sorry about the layoff. As we all know it could happen to any of us at any time. And I, and I am sure many others will be praying that you find a job where you can be happy at soon. Not just any old job but a job that makes you happy and puts your talents to good use
Hugs back to you both!

NC - The Navy needs engineers all over the country and all over the world. Put your resume on www.donhr.navy.mil. Also the rest of the government needs engineers. Try www.usajobs.opm.gov. With the Navy site, you don't have to do anything. They will contact you. Good luck to you and RAP.

Well, at least Now there is Nothing to stop you guys from moving. Use it as your opportunity to truly "start fresh".

weaver,
Of course you ticked me off! I thought we were square by the end of the thread though.
I just felt bad about KB because I kind of lit into her.
believer - Thanks for the tip. I have been to USA Jobs and posted there. Hard to get you foot in if you don't know anyone. Will go to the navy site.
FL - e-mail your phone number to I will get it there and pass it along to RAP.
top - I am with you on the attitude thing. It's funny how sometimes something that seems like a setback is really a blessing. We always look at those things with the 20/20 hindsight and are amazed at the outcome. I am handling this by trusting God and I KNOW it will work out for the better.
I do appreciate the concern from you all. Don't stop praying, but please don't worry. RAP and I will be fine.

NC- On the navy site, a computer reads the resumes. So to help it out, you just copy phrases word for word from the job requirements, and add into your job description.
It does help if you are a veteran though. Then you get preference.

NCW,no need to feel bad, no offense taken. I’m the type of person who can say pretty much anything direct in real life and not cause anger or offense so sometimes I forget that people can't *see* my body language and care when I *speak* on a computer screen. At the same time I try to extend that thought to others, so don’t worry about anything. We're cool.
I’m so very sorry about your layoff. Believer’s advice is great, I remember the first time she posted it to someone and it was so neat to think that board members could help one another in such a practical way. At any rate, I'm sure that you are a FINE engineer and will find something perfect soon. We will be praying to that end for your family. Best to you and RAP. KB
