Do any of you find yourself talking out loud to yourself, now that your spouse has left you for someone else? I catch myself doing this a lot, especially when I'm in the house alone.I say things that I would say if I were confronting my W,or her family,or the OM.Maybe my brain is just preparing for a possible confrontation. Some times I catch myself doing it when I'm working out in the yard. The neighbors probably think I have lost it.Anybody else do this,or am I just going crazy?? --Murph

Boy, I talk to myself. In my house, it is the only other person who makes any sense ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif)
Yes, I do exactly what you describe, Murphy. Sometimes I order myself around too, and correct myself.
I'll say "Now that was the wrong thing to do, TNT". or "Now, TNT you know better than that...." Or "Mike, you know you are making a big mistake - just knock that &*() off!
It's not crazy, or rather if it is - you are in good company ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)

Well I pray out loud, but I suppose that is fairly normal. However, when I move into the "anger" phase of the grieving process (which happens about once a day now), I litterally shout out loud. If I happen to have the windows open, I'm sure all my neighbors can hear me say vial and disgusting things at W and OM.

Oh, yeah. Big time. And the great thing about talking to yourself is that you can say whatever you damned well please! (Shattered1 - sounds like you do this.) I can fulminate with the best of them. I even regretted the shorter commute of my old job, because the 1/2 hour it took each way gave me a real chance to vent. (Of course, I'd shut up whenever I saw a cop. You do have to watch out for those little men in the coats.) I think I did it more in the earlier stages of my discovery of my W's affair though, when my rage was really boiling over and I had to do something to express it. Now that I've gotten more used to the situation, I don't think I do it as much. Plus my W sometimes overhears me and I have to watch out for that. I think her individual therapist probably has me diagnosed as certifiably psycho by now, based on what she's told him about such habits of mine!
--Wex

Hey, H didn't leave and I am STILL talking to myself, don't think it's a matter of weather or not he'll listen, more a matter of how much I respect my own opinion!!! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) !!
------------------
Chick's
You won't see things until your ready to not be blind!
You are in good company. I do it all the time. Hold little conversations with myself. I figure, as long as I don't answer back, I'm ok.
Yes i did that alot when i was having thoughts of the OM like would if i had said this or that to the things he said to me, or had done this or that, would it have ended on a more friendly basis. But that was why i needed to write the letter to myself to get all of that out, cause it was really tearing me up inside when these so called conversations would start to haunt me again, persay. Just had to realize what is done is done, if that person whether it had been my H, which thank goodness it wasn't or the OM coming back into my life just wasn't possible anymore. Nor do i want him back cause he caused me nothing but pain and sorrow in the end. Besides i don't want to even be friends with someone who couldn't even be completely truthful about his feelings towards me to his girlfriend. On both our parts we should of ended the relationship part, cause i was married and he had started living with someone and was in love with her too. We didn't though, and things just got worse between us. So its over with, and i've finally been able to move on from it. You will too if you just have faith in God and trust him to guide you the way things are supposed to go in your life. Lots of luck, trust me it does get better... : )
------------------
Alliy

So glad you all do too - thought I was the only crazy one!!!!! My kids used to think I was talking to them, but now they ignore it....just Mum gone a bit crazy again!!!! I confront OW in the mirror a lot....maybe just practicing for the real thing, but I don't think so ... just very therapeutic, and far less risky to myself or others!!!!

I would do it all the time while driving. My son started making fun of me because of it.
I did alot of it too when I first discovered the affair.
I don't think i do it as much now, because of my son and because I'm over the affair.

Murphy,
Yes, I do. I have always talked aloud. Besides being therapeutic in this case, it allows me to hear what I am thinking to make it more clear. I call it thinking out aloud. I actually think the sounds in my head anyway when I talk when I am thinking. Sometimes she is around sometimes she is not. She has come in when I was saying negative things as well as positive things. More negative than positve though. I feel that it is normal. Most people don't do it because they think it is crazy. NOT SO!!!!! I know that I am sane, just a little eccentric!!!
------------------
God Bless,
Rob

![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
I think sometimes the only reason I stay sane is because I talk to myself out loud! I do it regularly and even the cats don't look at me twice anymore...
------------------
terri
No, I'm not a Marriage Counselor,
But I did sleep at a
Holiday Inn Express last night...
