This last post doesn't sound like the Weaver I know.
Are you OK -
Not day to day OK, but down deep, are you OK?

Hey 2long,
Nice to hear from you. I can't believe how many saw something you didn't write.
It is good to shut up sometimes. For me, it often takes me a day to figure out what was really going on.
Quiet can be really good.
Nice if your W understood that sometimes.

SS and 2long,
Thank you for asking, and yes I'm okay.
Just coming to some ugly realizations this week which are hitting me like a tidal wave, making it even difficult to breathe. Never being one that hate comes easy to, these feelings are now overwhelming me. But I imagine this is part of the healthy process of healing, and the phase of grief which I have my entire life always managed to skip, until now it seems.
My loyalty, which has probably always been what I thought of as my strongest and best personality trait, has been misplaced I think, and that for me is a very hard pill to swallow.
Thread jack over, carry on!

Hello 2Long, I saw your post and found it interesting... thoughT I'd reply. I like your strategy, I sue it often myself... step back, don't say anything, maybe get the perspective of another person and then reply. BUT in the meantime, I ask a lot of questions so that the person KNOWS, that I am listening carefully and am interested in their struggles ( well, sometimes I'm not that interested, but at least the other person feels that I am )
Peace, Odyssey

Weaver, notice that 2long asked about you too, and since it's his thread, it's not a thread jack.
I have no idea what pulled the trigger for you. I know sometimes it's the holidays, sometimes we get to a point where we tend to say "what's the use."
I don't know if it's healing or not to be there.
I just wanted you to know that people are listening, and care about you. I was going to comment on things you said, but I see you edited the post, so I will leave it alone.
When things seem really bad, remember that out in the world, people care about you, and pray for you, and want you to be happy..................... because we do.
Thanks for all the help you give to others, I hope you know it really does help.
I believe things will be better for you. Not because you will have "good luck" or win the lottery or anything, but because you will make it so. I think you are that kind of person.
Today I am wishing that the journey was a little less painful for you. Will be praying for you tonight.

2long,
I was thinking again (almost blew a gasket) about what you said. When talking to my W, it is good to learn to keep quiet anyway, because often she is just venting, and doesn't want me to say something.
It helps to learn these very useful replies.
Mmmmmmm
Yes, I bet.
Sounds interresting
What do you think about it
Wow
So, what you gonna do now?
End quotes -
I am dumb, but I can be taught.

Weaver, hope things look up for Bird Day for you!
SS: I'm like that 2. 2 or 3 word replies a lot of the time. Sometimes, I've learned 2 not answer a direct 2uestion, just like she's done 2 me for so many years. It isn't a vindictive thing with me, though there is some of the "taste of her own medicine" involved. I do answer legitimate and important 2uestions, but I don't feel obligated 2 answer s2pid ones.
This am, I asked my W if it would be okay for me 2 pay Penny with my personal cc online, rather than cut a check from my savings account, because Penny thought I should. Got the "check" answer, because "I still write the checks 2 pay the credit cards and I still don't want 2 know about it." ...which left me thinking... "so, now that I've told her, she 'doesn't know' with greater assurance?" [edited 2 add: And I've got a new term for that (surprised?): 'Cognizant Ignorance']

GREAT NEWS!!!!
We won 1 of the bids for the Holiday Pack from Jones Soda Company!!!
It's a lovely 6-pack, nicely packaged, of the following Thanksgiving Dinner flavor sodas:
Turkey and Gravy Cranberry Mashed Potatos and Butter Green Bean Casserole Fruitcake
We're gonna be livin' LARGE this Thursday!!

[Edited correction: That's FIVE pack, I just realized. My PhD is in ROCKS, not NUMBERS! (if it were, it'd be a Count, not a Dr.!]

So, do they have a christmas one that includes fruit cake, old wrapping paper, stale punch and so on? I don't think I could handle green bean soda.
AS far as sayings - I remember the show Art Linkletter did "Kids say the darndest things."
Maybe we ought to record one for adults too, there have been enough quoted just on this forum to do about 10 years worth.
It might help too, if it was played back to the ones that say it, but then, they probably wouldn't listen.

Come on Still Seeking, can't I just win the lottery?
(just kidding)
I want to tell you thank you for noticing my pain, and I think that your prayers found me last night because I have found a certain peace today. Still a bit weepy, but I think those awful, strangling hate feelings are gone.
Holdays are terribly hard for a lot of people, I am one of them. I live in such a rural area, we have no soup kitchen, if we did that is where I would be, helping to give food and comfort to those that are alone in this world.
There are lots of things I could do to offer service and help to others, and I have been very good at advising this to others, but not so good at actually doing it myself. That's the ticket, I know.
Thank you again SS.

P.S.
Bill Cosby also had the "kids say the funniest things" show on for awhile. It was great!

2long, we need a report on the soda.
I want to know if someone would really drink that stuff, not just get it as a gag gift.

SS,
I was king od wondering about the soda too!
Yes, I had a good thanksgiving with my sister. DD spent it at her dad's, but she called this morning on her way to Canada for a long weekend and said she had an "OK" time with him but it was boring.
I think she misses her mom a bit although she would never admit it, not to me anyway.
Thanks for asking SS, your a kind a gentle soul me thinks.
Have a good weekend!

42nately, we waited until the day after Bird Day 2 try the sodars.
Turkey and Gravy and Green Bean Caserole: Didn't taste much like their namesakes, but were both rather gross.
Mashed Potatos and Butter: Smelled and tasted EXACTLY like the real thing. My D had 2 go hurl. Nice buttery aftertaste, 2.
Cranberry sauce: Best of the lot. Ac2ally rather yummy.
Fruitcake: I'm not sure whether it tasted like fruitcake, as I've never used the genuine article for anything other than as a building material. It smelled alcoholic, but isn't. Tasted okay. Kind of syrupy.

2long,
I can't even imagine. I too was tempted by the sultry wiles of "holiday spice" soda. What does that mean? What could it be? I. Had. To. Know. ...and now that I do..a heartfelt bleah is in order. It's sort of..gingery..and maybe a touch of, I don't know..cardamom? Point is, it's weird, and it tastes bad, I mean, really unpleasant. And it smells funny. My daughter tried it, made a face and asked if it was coffee .
This will NOT prevent others from being likewise suckered. It might not even prevent me from doing it again if another brand advertised the same concept.
